I was sleeping on the dirty floor, being that was the only thing I could do to pass the time. Someone came by and freed my hands, and gave me an actual meal. It consisted of canned beans, sunflower seeds, a tiny crushed bag of Doritos and some water. I much appreciated it but it didn't get rid of the aching worry in my chest and stomach. It didn't get rid of my headache from being hit over the head either.
Then, I heard the door open again.
The masked man from the seance stood before me.
I sat up and rubbed my face, "Can I help you?" I asked sarcastically.
"I just came to assure myself you were alive." he said.
I snorted and rolled my eyes, "Why the hell do you care?" I asked.
"Because you are the glue holding this family together. If we lost you, Shane would no longer have a reason to come." he said.
"Yeah, right. He's probably not even coming. I doubt there's much he could do." I said.
"But that's where you're wrong. He is nearby. However, based on what I detect, it will be a few more hours before he finds you." he explained.
"What do you mean? Where the hell even am I?" I asked.
The man kneeled down to eye level.
"You're in my world, now. Don't worry too much about where you are, you should be more concerned about how you got here." he said ominously.
"What? I-I don't understand." I stuttered, laughing nervously.
"Let's just say you're far from home." he said, standing back up. "If your friend doesn't show up in time, you will soon find out where you are. Trust me, you won't like it." he laughed out of his nose and slammed and locked the door behind him.
I leapt to my feet and watched him walk off through the small window.
"You're a fucking pretentious asshole!" I screamed at him, turning around and slamming my fists into the wall. I was utterly confused and terrified, and annoyed at his act. He was putting up some sort of front. It pissed me off.
There was nothing I could do about it, though. So I leaned against the wall and slid down to a crouching position. I closed my eyes and waited.
