Turns out, after the Watcher was killed, everyone who had a sixth sense lost the abilities they had. I could no longer see any kind of energy or thermal pattern without the use of technology, nor could I feel others' emotions in some sort of way. It was a very weird sensation, but I eventually adjusted.

Sara also found a new in her normalcy. She found a new job, made more friends, and started a community group that studied history. She had a lot of the facts memorized so she took that time teaching it to others. She told me she wishes to go back to school and study to become a historian.

Ryan was soon reunited with Marielle and the rest of his family. He took awhile to heal, from physical wounds and had lasting trauma, but he eventually returned to the office and was able to smile again. He struggled to agree to more ghost hunting, but after a year, we finally took a trip back to the college we tried exploring before.

Those who were being used by the Watcher were taken back to their homes and had been left with little memory of what happened to them. A few people ended up with permanent blindness. Others took to doctors to help figure out the effects of switching in between realms.
Scientific research went forward to figure out the mystery behind the backrooms. It was easier for humans to phase in and out of walls and stalkers no longer hunted. It was still risky but not totally life-threatening.

We made a viral video explaining the backrooms, which got a lot of experts coming to us asking questions. No one knew for sure if we were actually there, but most people seemed to believe us. People celebrated the disappearance of the Watcher. The Broaddus family reached out to us asking what happened. The house on 657 Boulevard was found to be the most powerful portal to the other dimension.

I didn't tell anyone the full truth of how he died. I simply told them he passed away from a heart attack.
No matter what, the life I led after was bliss.
I felt normal and at peace for the first time in my life. Never would I take that feeling for granted again.
