(PART 20) SOPHIE'S POV.
It took all of Sophie's might not to tug on another eyelash. Despite Elwins reassurances she couldn't stop worrying. Keefe looked troubled and Sophie couldn't get it out of her mind the look he gave her. The hate in his eyes...
She watched as his blue eyes flickered open, they had insisted on him not getting a sedative. His eyes made his way to her and Sophie was glad to see the warmth in them.
"You know if I continue at this rate I might even top you at passing out." He said with a weak smile.
"Are you okay?" Sophie asked as Elwin came out of his lab.
He proceeded to look inside Keefe's brain and then he sighed. " As per usual I can't see anything. But something is not right. Your both going to be stuck here a while."
"Me? Why?" Sophie asked, she was feeling perfectly fine.
"Whatever you did to Keefe took its toll on you. I actually can see that so you two are stuck with each other until further notice." He winked and went back to preparing elixirs.
"I guess we're stuck with each other." Keefe said.
Sophie plopped on the bed with a sigh and closed her eyes. There were still so much to figure out. Sophie didn't even know what they were.
Elwin came back with a tray of elixirs. Handing each to both of them and looked at them expectantly. Knowing better than to ask Sophie gulped them all down within a minute.
"Did you tell Edaline and Grady?"
"Yes. Everyone will be here in few hours. Said they had something to discuss. Stop worrying much. Think of this as a holiday and look Keefe is here." He grandly held out his hands at Keefe who gave Sophie a smirk but there was something off about it.
"What happened?" Sophie asked not letting him look away.
He let out a notice that sounded like Bullhorn being strangled. Elwin seemed to notice that this was not going to go out well and left them alone.
"Keefe..." Sophie asked.
"It's nothing." He averted her gaze.
Sophie didn't know what to say, Keefe was lying to her. And he was well aware that she knew he was lying to her. She didn't want to push, after all he had barely woken up. There were things he was dealing with and as much as Sophie wanted to help she knew some things were better left alone.
"I want prattles." Sophie said. Keefe looked at her in suprise and raised his eyebrows.
"What? It's been ages, Foxfire still hasn't started yet and I've been too busy with team valient and visiting you. I want prattles." Sophie said again.
"We'll sneak out in the night and raid the secret cafeteria." He said with a glint in his eyes.
"I doubt you will be able to name all of them." Sophie challenged him.
Keefe gasped. "Are you challenging me Miss F?"
Sophie kept the smile off her face and turned away. "Maybe I am."
"Oh it is on." Keefe said. She couldn't help herself she laughed, it occurred to her she hadn't done that since Keefe. It felt good. When Sophie was stuck in the healing center Keefe had gone through great deals to name the pins.
"So...did you visit me everyday?" Keefe asked. Sophie looked towards him and rolled her eyes.
"It wasn't like you gave me a choice. I now have two official leaping crystals to the healing center." She said proudly.
"You do? And your getting better at this by the way." Keefe got up and looked down at himself. Sophie had to stifle a laugh at what he was wearing, it hadn't seemed important to her before so she hadn't noticed it. He was wearing an oversized tunic with pink yetis in them, his hair looked like he just rolled off the bed and it worked for him. What didn't work for him? Sophie thought in frustration.
Keefe looked up to her tilted his head with a slight smile on his face and went back to examining himself. It occurred to her why.
"You can feel my feelings?" Sophie asked.
"Yeah...why?" He said.
"You couldn't before." Sophie said. He gotten pale she realized. Of course he hadn't eaten for weeks but somehow he seemed upright and healthy.
"It's weird. Your emotions are strong but now it's almost as if I can tell what your feeling." Keefe looked up to her guiltily. Heat rose in Sophie's cheeks but she quickly wiped it away.
I need a bath. Keefe said.
"Yeah you do." Sophie said (a/n why am I so fixed on said?)
"I didn't say anything." Keefe looked at her weirdly.
"Haha you just did, you said you needed a bath." Keefe backed away.
At that point everyone decided to show up.
"Ah your up good to... Is everything all right?" Sophie didn't even acknowledge who said it.
"Are you sure?" Sophie asked again.
What is happening?
"I don't know! Your..." She stopped as she saw Keefe's face. He was on the other side of the room now.
"Foster what are you doing?" He asked.
"I'm not doing anything it's your voice that keeps... Is it the same with..." She knew her answer when she saw Keefe's face. "Oh what is happening."
Sophie backed away until she hit the wall.
"Mr. Sencen and Miss Foster, would you please tell us what is happening?"
Sophie was asking herself the same thing. She tried to keep her mind blank and she knew Keefe was doing the same. "Um...we can hear each other's thoughts."
