Esmé groaned and sprang up from her laying position on her bed. Her cream duvet that matched her wallpapers creased as her weight weighed down on it. She glared at her open cupboard and the clothes she had arranged on the desk in front of it.
"I have absolutely nothing to wear!" she exclaimed and flopped back onto her bed.
Laughter rang out from her side, turning Esmé's attention to her side where her phone lay, "Really, Ez? Nothing to wear?"
Esmé sighed and hit her hand over my face, "Trust me, I know just how ridiculous that sounds but I've gone through my cupboard three different times and I can't seem to find just the right cloth to wear tomorrow. It's my official first day of work and I have to dress right."
Petra chuckled lightly, "My, my, Esmé Black grumbling about what cloth to wear. If I remember clearly, the first time we went shopping, you were talking about how you wouldn't have to go shopping again."
"Shut up."
"I get this Ez but honestly you don't need to wear anything fancy and this is coming from me. You're still going to change into your work clothes when you get there."
Esmé released her face and grabbed the phone off the bed. She put Petra off the speaker and placed the phone next to her ear, "That's what makes this whole thing so stressful, Pet. I don't want to wear anything too flashy so I don't look like a show-off and then I don't want to wear anything that's not appropriate that I'd seem like I'm taking the fact that I got the job easy for granted. Gosh, I hate this life."
Petra sighed, "Join the club, sweetheart. Listen, I would have loved to come to join you, but I need to resume my shift right about now."
Esmé sighed and sat up, "Right, sorry."
"Oh, come on. It's cool. While I'm at work, you need a break."
"A break? That's your conclusion."
"Yes, take the dog out for a walk. Clear your head. That could help you."
"Kian's taken Archie out already."
"Well then, meet Kian. He doesn't have to come to work today so bond with him!"
Esmé scoffed at the suggestion. "You're kidding."
"No, I'm not. You could tell him to teach you how to drive. You're about to start work soon, it won't hurt to learn how to drive."
"You wouldn't know what driving school is for, would you?"
"Oh, my darling Esmé, driving school is there to improve on what Kian will teach you. It'll be fun. It'll give you guys' time to bond. Don't you want to bond with Doctor Kian Lincoln?"
"No, I do not."
"Yes, you do. Oops, I have to go. Uncle Hugh is around the corner! Make sure to tell me all about it, okay?"
Her phone beeped right after Petra hung up. Esmé got off her bed and looked to her open wardrobe one more time and decided that although bonding with Kian wasn't on her mind, she needed to get out of her room.
