I'm counting down the days
until our time runs out
world in chaos
can't hide my doubtDoubt of the politicians
who say they work with us,
full of all these speeches
but then they stab us in the backOh, Jeremy, we sang
just look where we are now
split in two, a rift between us
can't undo this shift we're feelingFar right in parliament
governing our lives
fine the students, starve the children
Brainwash us 'til we're one hive-mind.Just who do they think they are?
I'm doubting my leader
and you should too
I don't trust anyone
What are we to do?My mind's in turmoil
the world more so
people are dying
Is it time to go?Seconds into minutes
and the minutes into hours
we're stuck on the small things
adorning houses with dead flowers. And even though I try to find the good in all we do
looking at the tabloids, I can't believe it's true
yet the evidence is right here in front of my face
seeing all these streets and towns just takes my breath away.Litter down the roads, grime up the walls
people lying shelterless, hungry and cold
their cheeks are sunken, sallow, scalled
Is this even our world anymore?
