Amelia's P.O.V.
We were finally here. Today is the day we've been dreaming about for the last five years. The day where we close one big chapter of our lives and start a new one. The day where we celebrate our hard work throughout the years. The day where we get a diploma. Today is the day we finally get to graduate.
I was standing in line, hidden behind a big red curtain, wearing this long black gown and a small hat at the top of my head, waiting to finally get on stage and claim my diploma. It's funny, I've been excited about this very moment every day I passed in college but now that I was here, my anxiety was getting to me. Every time one person gets called and when the line gets shorter and shorter my heart beats faster and faster.
This year was a really long one. To think that I almost got killed and would've never seen this big day come to reality. After Ethan got stabbed, he went into a deep coma for a reason that I don't remember. The doctors almost made the call to unplug his machines and pronounce him dead but luckily he woke up. Everyone was so relieved and I cried for a whole day thinking that I could've actually lost him. He's alright now. He had to spend a few weeks in the hospital but his recovery was done smoothly after that incident.
The last girl who was in front of me hears her name being called and walks on stage.
Okay, I'm next. I hope I don't trip or fall. That'll be so humiliating especially because there are a lot of parents and friends attending this event. Unfortunately, my parents couldn't come, they said that their flight had been canceled due to a rainstorm. Of course, I'm a little disappointed because a day like this doesn't come twice in someone's life but I rather that than having them risk their lives in an airplane during a violent rainstorm.

I took a huge breath and let it all out. Here goes nothing. Walking up those few steps was nerve-wracking. It was as if I were in a movie and then everything suddenly went in slow motion. I could hear my own heart beating and my shallow breaths.
Almost there, just a few more steps until complete success. I gracefully grabbed my diploma from the lady while smiling at her then shook her hand. Then stepped to the side and shook another man's hand.
While I was walking to the other side of the stage, I suddenly heard cheers. People screaming my name in the audience. I could've mistaken those voices for Ethan and Edan but it wasn't them. The voices of whom I knew too well, of whom I thought would've missed my graduation day because of their canceled flight. I turned my head towards the audience and I could see them clearly cheering my name. My parents were seated right next to Ethan and Edan. Tears started to form at the brim of my eyes. I waved to them and happily whispered, "I did it, mom, dad, I finally made it."
When I reached the other side of the stage where the audience didn't have me in sight anymore, I was engulfed by two huge hugs from Dona and Nick.
"I can't believe we finally got our diploma. It just seems like yesterday that we've started our first year in high school but we've come such a long way," Dona cheered slowly retrieving from our hug.
"Yeah, me neither. Especially with all of the crap we've been through this year. It might even be refreshing to close this chapter," Nick replied.
"It's going to be sad, with Dona moving to New York to complete her studies in business. It'll just be me and Nick now."
"Actually..." Nick started while looking at me guiltily.
"I've been accepted to go to Harvard Law School." Dona and I gasped at the same time.
"OHHHHH MYY GOSHHH, NICK!" We both screamed at the same time while tackling him into a bone-crushing hug making him cringe.
"We're so proud of you," I whispered.
"Really? I thought you were going to be mad since I'm kinda leaving you alone."
"Pffft, non-sense. I don't care whatever you do. Just follow your dreams."
"Amelia." I heard my name being called behind me and turned around to be faced with the twins. I smiled at them and walked over to kiss both of their lips. I've learned to be more self-confident with myself and to not care what other people think. It used to be a little hard to show affection in public places but now I'm totally alright with it.
"Congratulations," They said in union and handed me a flower bouquet each.
"Thank you very much." That when I spotted my parents behind them smiling at us. I quickly ran to them and overwhelmed them with the biggest hug ever.
"I thought you guys said that your flight got canceled."
"We wanted to give you a little surprise." I chuckled and gave them another hug. This is the best surprise I've ever gotten since I haven't seen my parents in person for months.
"Okay, everyone ready to go?" Dona asked everyone and we all nodded.
The rest of the night consisted of dancing, screaming, drinking, eating, to celebrate our newest achievement. Could life get any better?
Two weeks later
"Do not peek," Ethan strictly warned me.
"No, I won't." Today I was planning on doing some laundry when the twins suddenly told me to get in the car. They apparently had a surprise for me. I felt that we were inside a small building right now.
"Okay, now."
I cautiously removed my hands from in front of my eyes and gasped at what was in sight. Tables and chairs were surrounding me. In front was a long counter with shelves protected by glass over them. There was also a menu held from the ceiling.
"Is this-"
"Your own bakery, yes," Edan finished for me.
"Oh my gosh, how did you guys do this?" I gasped in disbelief.
"When you run your own mafia, anything is possible." Ethan cockily smirked and leaned on to the counter.
"And we also wanted to cheer you up a little. We knew you were going to be sad after Dona and Nick left last week," Edan also added.
"We guys could've bought me ice cream and that would've been enough." I looked around the room still in shock. Is this really mine?
"Since your birthday is also coming up. Think of this as a little early birthday gift."
"Pfft, you call this small?"
"It is pretty small compared to the extent that we could go to," Ethan said with that cocky smirk still plastered on his beautiful face.
"I really don't know what to say, guys."
"You can start by taking your clothes off," Edan whispered in my ear gluing his body to me.
"Here? People will see," I tried to protest.
"You don't think that we didn't add a little something extra for us now did you," Ethan replied now walking over to us.
"There's a room in the back specially made for us."
I was completely wrong, life could actually get better.
THE END
Special thanks to everyone who continued reading this book. I started writing this not really expecting much to come from it but it was the opposite. I reached around 93k reads by the time I finished this. I even got a few editors from other platforms who contacted me. This may be the worst book I've ever written in my opinion but it won't be the last.
Hope to see you in another book of mine.
