You rushed through the corridors in a feverish haste, causing a commotion everywhere you went through and to the people you bumped into, but that didn't matter right now. Your boots clicked with every hurried step you made on the ground, throwing your entire body forward and protecting your oh so precious project from any harsh bump that could ruin it on the way.
You had overslept this morning, coincidentally the same day you had to submit the first project of your entire career. Of course, you had worried so much last night about having to deliver your work that you had ended up falling asleep at around five in the morning, which then led you to find it really hard to wake up at seven in the morning.
You checked the hour. Still three minutes until the work was due.
You took in a deep breath and halted your steps. Fixing up your clothes and hair so that you'd look at least decent in front of your professor.
"Come in." The man seemed to have noticed your indecisive form standing outside his classroom, so he urged you to just come in right away.
You had told yourself a thousand times that you had to make a good first impression on your teachers. You had dreamed since you were 15 years old about entering the career and university of your dreams, so you worked and studied hard and finally achieved it. Now, the harder part came. Getting your degree. You were a very hardworking woman. Whenever you had something in your mind, you'd get it. Always.
"Ah! It's you (Y/N)! I was scared you might've not finished your project." He smiled kindly, receiving your work and gesturing for you to sit down.
Just like you had planned for, the moment classes began you had made an amazing impression of yourself to most of your teachers, being this one of them. You studied and were very smart, so it wasn't really hard to do so.
"I'm sorry for the hours, Professor Jinbei. My project was finished but I had a little trouble getting here on time. My most sincere apologies." You said looking down to your lap.
"Nonsense, (Y/N)! You are just on time." He chuckled, eyeing your work and later putting it back next to those of your classmates. "I just hope you were careful on your way over. You look like you've ran a whole marathon."
You smiled sheepishly.
Well...
No. You hadn't been careful at all. You might've even knocked a couple of people down to the floor in your haste, but it was ok. You had ran so fast they probably hadn't even seen your face anyways. Your bad actions would remain unknown.
"I was." You lied. He wouldn't ever know.
Jinbei was actually one of your favorite teachers. He had quickly seen your potential as a student and immediately gave himself the challenge to squeeze you so you'd get out of the university as one of the best in your area. He knew you'd be just that.
"Care for some tea?" He offered.
He was grading some tests of later years, so he had all the time he could want, but you had other things to do.
"I'm sorry Professor. I'd love to, but I have a place I should be at in a couple of minutes." You said smiling at him with subtly furrowed brows. You loved the chances to sit down and speak with your teachers, specially the ones you admired.
Jinbei was known for being amazing at what he did, but after years of great work he finally retired and decided to teach young students. Because of this, you wouldn't ever want to deny yourself a chance to talk to him and have a sort of private lesson from the wise man.
"Pitty." He mumbled. "Well (Y/N) then I shall not hold you back anymore, but you're more than welcome to come back any day. My office doors will always be open for you." He smiled sweetly. He looked like an adorable asian grandpa, but the man was actually incredibly smart and admired by many.
