Emergency Call

"Almost Friday, huh?" Jinbei smiled at you happily.

You had just entered your first class of the day, Jinbei being the professor that taught it.

"Yeah." You smiled sheepishly, taking your seat in the front row. You knew Jinbei had expected you to continue the conversation, but you simply weren't in the mood. As you kept repeating it to yourself, life right now was sucking for you and you had the right to shut down a little. Of course, Jinbei immediately noticed your sour mood and didn't take long to worry.

"I can see something's bothering you, (Y/N)."

Nobody had yet arrived to the room, so it was just you and Jinbei. He took advantage of this situation and decided to speak with you, having noticed how your mood had went downhill since the beginning of this week.

"Oh, it's fine pr-"

"Please, (Y/N). Between us, you're my star student. I can tell something is wrong, so don't be afraid to ask for my help." He winked at you with an adorable grin.

You smiled softly at him, understanding that he had good intentions and only wanted to help.

"I've just had problems with my family and boyfriend, well, now ex boyfriend." You frowned, looking down to your notebook and not making eye contact. It was a very personal issue and you were now wondering if maybe you should've made up a fake issue.

"Ah, I see." He mumbled, getting up and ruffling your hair in a caring way. "As long as they aren't your fault, don't let this problems get to your head. You are your own person, and a very smart one, so you shouldn't let other people's whims sour your mood."

You looked up at him with a smile. He was completely right, but it was hard. Your parents being weird had nothing to be with the way you were, and it was the same with Zoro. Him deciding he didn't want anything to do with you wasn't your fault, but it was his own whim. Letting go of the weight of your relationships was tough, but he was right. It was only slowing you down, souring your mood and ruining your productivity, yet there was nothing you could do. You just had to live honestly based on your true self, not get stuck on the sadness the ruptures of past relationships were bringing you.

"Thank you, professor." You smiled, nodding at him.

"Of course! That's actually not my advice, it's Fisher Tiger's." He chuckled, going back to his desk and beginning to write on the board.

Fisher Tiger was a legend. As much of a superstar as Jinbei could be considered in the professional world, his tutor was considered a much more awesome and intimidating man by newbies like you. Sadly, he had passed away a couple of years ago, so you wouldn't ever be able to meet him. Jinbei was the living testament of his existence, having inherited every single knowledge Fisher Tiger had passed on to him.

You felt your spirits being lifted even more. It was a slow process, but at least you were getting somewhere. First your friends had come over to your place to support you, and now the person you admired the most was trying to lift your spirits. Things were working out pretty well in the end, ignoring, of course, the emptiness Zoro had left in your heart. Maybe you'd get over this break up sooner than you had expected.

Once Jinbei had began the lecture, you felt your phone vibrating against your pocket, but you didn't want to interrupt your professor so you didn't take the call. It kept on silently ringing in your pocket, making your focus drift off from your teacher's lecture to the annoying electronic device. With a huff, you finally looked down to your pocket, and saw that the screen was still lighted up, meaning that the calls were still coming, so you took it out of your pocket to see the ID. Unknown number.
