"Wake up, Zoro~" You cooed, face centimeters away from his.
"Mmm..." He mumbled still asleep.
"Zoro~" You teased, kissing his cheek and skin lovingly. He looked adorable when asleep.
"Mhm."
"I have to change your bandages, Zoro. I need you awake." You frowned, poking his cheek with your index finger playfully.
He kept on mumbling senseless things as he nuzzled his face into the crook of your neck, searching for both your natural warmth and scent. You giggled at the sensation and patted his cheek with your palms, laughing as he furrowed his brows.
"C'mon Zoro~"
"Ngh."
You sweat dropped at the green grizzly bear that was Zoro. If it was hard to wake him up under normal circumstances, now that he was drugged it was going to be even harder.
"At least open your eye."
"I'm sleeping."
"No you're not."
"Why did you wake meee?" He whined, covering his eyes with his hands from the light that wasn't allowing him to fall back to sleep.
"Bandages." You mumbled, already preparing the kit to be ready and efficient for the procedure.
"Nah. Tis fine. Lemme sleep." He mumbled, trying to turn as he forgot about his injuries. "Shit." He groaned, taking in a deep breath and closing his eyes. He had hurt himself being goofy.
Yo looked at him with a worried frown. It sucked that he had been forced by your parents to go through this. They had taken it too far.
"Stay still..." You mumbled and placed a hand supportively on the part of his chest that didn't have any injuries. He smiled softly and nodded, staying put, quiet and completely still. This way you'd finish faster and he wouldn't have to feel any more pain than the necessary.
You started unwrapping the bandages at his chest and cleaned up the wounds, losing yourself to the thoughts of everything that had happened since Zoro arrived. What your parents had done to both you and him was horrible, not to forget that they were probably forcing Law to try and speak to you so you'd get married. That's almost a psychological torture to him. Who knows what threat they had sent his way.
The worse part of all of this was that you literally couldn't do shit in order to put your parents back into their place. They were rich important people and not even Newgate, who was a pretty important economical figure, would be able to fight them.
With this in mind, you finally realized that Newgate was right. Your parents sucked. They had never really cared for you as a daughter, much less as a human being, and you had to get rid of the idea that their way of seeing you would someday change. They didn't love you, end of story.
Still, you had the smallest of hope that if Newgate went to talk to them and told them about your decision, they would try to call you or come see you to say something. Only time would tell.
"(Y/N)?" Zoro asked in a soft voice.
"Huh?"
"You're crying." He mumbled, hand lifting up to hold your cheek lovingly and clean a stray tear that had just began to fall.
"Ah- sorry."
"Don't apologize. What's wrong?" He frowned. Wanting to hug you, but unable to because of obvious reasons, he pulled you down so that you'd at least be on top of him, and kissed you deeply. He wanted to let you know he was here for you.
