The next morning, I woke up with a heavy essence, I couldn't sleep last night all thanks to Yulan and Sophia's determination to leave. I dressed and went out for breakfast, Sophia and I hit into each other on the stairs, I waved to her but she dismissed casting me away. She rode past Fredrick who also attempted to stop her. I chuckled seeing she too didn't worry about talking to him.

I took a seat at the dining table, Fredrick comes and seats opposite me. Mrs. Jane served us our breakfast, she placed a bowl of chicken pepper soup, and just when we were about to eat, we heard a gunshot. Immediately the spoon in my hand fell to the ground, I ran outside and met Sophia startled beside her car.

"Sophia, are you okay?". I nuzzle her.

"Don't you dare touch me," She nudged me away.

I carried my hand up and admitted guilt, Sophia takes herself back into the house and left me staring as she left. Fredrick glanced at me with a smile. I swiveled and saw that "What is it?" I asked. He says, nothing and also walked away.

Before leaving, I took a look around the mansion, who wants to kill Sophia? I went in and phoned Inspector Jude, he comes home after some time to meet me. I called Sophia downstairs to also confront him.

She takes a seat and the inspector asked her about the incident in the morning. Sophia looked at me before confiding, she says, the minute she tried to leave, a gunshot was fired at her. Inspector Jude jotted down everything, he asked if she saw the face of the shooter, and Sophia declined. He thanked her and asked me to escort him outside, I gave a nod and we both left.

I walked him to his car, and Inspector Jude placed his hand on the car door, I swiveled my back on him, but he snatched me. "Sir, I think there's something you need to know?". He tells.

"What is?". I conceded. He looked twice before speaking. "It's about your mom, I got a lead and we believe that the day that Incident happened, she didn't die," He placed his hand on my shoulders, "I think your mom is alive,". Inspector Jude conveyed.

I looked at him without saying anything, my mom can't be alive, can she? I requested Inspector Jude to investigate more, he gave me his word that he wouldn't stop investigating. I watched him leave, I turned back and Fredrick gazed at me with shock. "What did he just say, is our mom alive?". He rushed outside. " I don't know brother, let's hope she's the one, "I said and walked in.

I rode to my bedroom, on my way I passed Sophia's room and heard her making a call. She was busy striving to find an apartment, I rode in and she turns seeing me at her door. "What are you doing here Chris?". She disconnected the call. "I am sorry, but I couldn't help but wonder why you still want to leave, this is your house as well,".

I walked in, hitting the door a little. She laughed. "Is this my house, because I doubt it,". She got up from the bed and came to me. "Please leave and don't ever think of walking into my bedroom without knocking again,". She gave me a warning. I dragged my feet back and looked at her

It seems Sophia now feels hostility toward me. I turned and left her room, closing the door behind me. I couldn't understand why Sophia was behaving this way. I went back to my room, trying to clear my head. But I couldn't shake off the feeling that something was off.

As I sat on my bed, I heard a knock on the door. I got up to open it, and it was Fredrick. "Hey, bro, what's up?" he asked, looking concerned. "Not much, just trying to figure out what's going on with Sophia," I replied. "Yeah, I know what you mean. I've been trying to talk to her too, but she's not having it," Fredrick said. "Do you think she's okay?" I asked. "I don't know, man. She seems really upset. Maybe we should give her some space," Fredrick suggested.

I nodded in agreement. "Yeah, maybe you're right." I said. Fredrick turned to leave, but then stopped and turned back to me. "Hey, Chris? Do you think Mom is really alive?" he asked, looking serious. I was taken aback by the question. "I don't know, Fredrick. I don't know what to believe," I replied. Fredrick nodded and left my room, leaving me to ponder the question.

Question of the day. Sophia has decided to leave, will Chris let her go and what can he do to stop her from taking off?
