I was about to leave when I saw Yulan walking in, looking sad. I was coerced into asking her what was wrong. Yulan said she was just coming back from the hospital and had a visit with the doctor.
For some strange reason, I couldn't tell if she was lying or telling the truth. Don't blame me; Yulan has never once been honest with me.
That's also the reason I had no option but to break up with her.
I went after Sophia and met her alone with her thoughts. I took a step in but stopped, remembering the warning I got last time for entering her room without knocking.
"Sophia, may I come in?" I said. She looked back and nodded.
I let out a relieved sob and walked in. "What do you want, Chris?" She stood up from the bed and faced me.
"I'm sorry, but I'm here to talk about Dad's last will and testament," I recited in a low tone.
Sophia got sensitive and yelled that she had nothing to talk about with me. What's her problem? I know I did wrong by not telling her about Yulan, but please, she's my ex-girlfriend and nothing more.
She gave me her back. I tried making her confront me, but Fredrick walked in and got the whole issue out of hand. He took hold of her and forcefully yanked her out of her room.
I went after him and stumbled upon a little romantic setting in the living room. Fredrick must have done this. He prepared Sophia's favorite dish and had her favorite song playing out loud.
"What's all this, Frederick?" She looked around, busy.
I walked closer, and my brother went down on one knee and pleaded with Sophia to get back with him. I stood there speechless.
Sophia took a step back in awe and almost tripped over a stool. Fredrick lifted his head up, and while Sophia wasn't looking, he gave me a wink.
I should have known he was going to act irrationally; he doesn't love his ex-wife as he presumes to. My brother is nothing but an insensitive and manipulative bastard.
There's no way in hell I'm going to let Sophia be compelled to accept such a manipulative request. I surged ahead to stop the drama, but I had to withdraw when Fredrick got rejected.
Yes, Sophia refused him and walked outside. I couldn't contain my joy; I laughed so hard that Fredrick got annoyed. He tossed a glass at me; I shifted direction, and it went straight to the wall.
"You're enjoying this, aren't you?" Fredrick spoke out. I looked at him and gave a yes by nodding my head. "Do you think I'll let Sophia be with you?" He strengthened.
I'm guessing it's stupid to think my brother wouldn't be able to fight against his younger brother getting the woman he once threw away.
"No, of course not, brother; I'm sure you won't," I accepted.
"You bet, if Sophia doesn't end up being mine, she won't be yours either," He swore angrily, walking away with the bottle of champagne.
I'm not worried; my brother has always been the one who says a lot of things and never once fulfilled them. His words are without actions.
However, he isn't the problem; Yulan is. Because the more she stays here, and Sophia gets to see her every day, the further it is for me to get the woman of my dreams.
I'll have to send Yulan far away; the sooner she leaves, the happier I will become.
Question of the day: Sophia's father-in-law handed 98% of his shares and properties to her, and the left 10% was given to his sons. Fredrick didn't like that one bit. What will happen now that Sophia is the major owner?
