I ran outdoors and met Sophia in the front yard. She turned around and found me standing behind her. She asked me what I had  come for, and then I got a little closer and stared at her as She concealed her beautiful face from me.

"Sophia, I'm sorry about my brother," I said, severing the cessation.

She nodded and stylishly wiped the tears from her eyes. I wanted to comfort her; I wished I could console her, but I couldn't.

She didn't trust me, even though I have proven time and again that I'm different from my brother.

As I walked away, she grabbed me back by my hand. I turned around, and she laid her head on my chest.

My eyes opened in awe. I wasn't expecting that to happen. When Fredrick walked in, he caught the whole scene and shot me a deadly glare before turning around and walking back in.

Yulan also saw us and then decided to leave as well.

Sophia then  pulled herself together and then took a step back. She  apologized for what happened, lowering her head.

"Why are you apologizing?"..
I asked her after her apology but she smiled, didn't say a single word and hastily walked away.

I went back inside and was heading to my room when I heard my name being called behind me.

I turned around, and it was inspector Jude  walking into the house and he had someone following him from behind..
I cautiously tried to look at the person but his brode shoulders made it difficult to see the face.

"Chris, there's someone who wants to meet you".
He announced,  and the moment his pulled away, I came face to face with the person we had thought was dead .

"Mom!?" I  screamed and shortly after, my brother came down and confronted the same scene.

"Mom, she's here?"
He ran past me and hugged her.

Mom wrapped her arms around him and kissed his cheeks.

Later She turned to me and said
" Don't you wish to hug your own mother?"..

I got so emotional that I ran forward and  embraced her .

Mom is alive? How did that happen?.

Fredrick took  her to her bedroom, which was once her's and Dad's, while I thanked inspector Jude for his help, and walked him to his car .

I then went back to mom's room and found Sophia seated next to my brother..

"What's happening?"

I shut the door behind me and slowly came forward..

"Nothing, Chris, shouldn't I bless my son and Daughter-in-law?" .

Mom stood up from the bed, placed her hand on the heads of Sophia and Frederick, and blessed them..

I looked bewildered as I forged ahead, but Fredrick grabbed me by the hand, and we went outside to talk.

"What's going on? Who's your wife?" I asked him.

"Calm down, and I'll explain," He answered me .

I chose not to retaliate further as I waited for his explanation, which needed to be reasonable.

"The truth is?" He took a dramatic pause before continuing to speak, " Mom has partial amnesia".

"No way! I don't believe" .

Fredrick has always been a habitual liar, so it was difficult to believe him. However, he explained further, and I needed to verify his claims by phoning Inspector Jude..

He confirmed that Mom's memory was limited to Dad's last business trip to China before the incident. Everything else seemed to have been erased. We were advised not to discuss other topics in her presence to avoid triggering forgotten memories.

"Wait! Do I also have to pretend too?".

Sophia overheard our conversation and asked us a question.
