You walked into the BAU, Rossi beside you. It was almost as if everyone could feel your determination. Agents moved out of your way or stayed clear of you. It could have to do with Rossi's face, the way he looked pissed off. That could very well be it.
When the elevator opened to the bullpen, Rossi led you into it. Derek was there with JJ, both of them seeing you for the first time since the day your father had showed up at the BAU.
JJ ran up to you and pulled you into a tight hug, "Y/n." JJ choked out, and you could feel her relief of seeing you.
As soon as she pulled away, Derek was replacing her. He pulled you into a bone-crushing hug. You wrapped your arms around him as he kissed the top of your head, "We'll fix this, y/n." He promised.
He let you go and you faced the both of them. "Hey, guys." You greeted nervously.
They opened their mouths to speak when Hotch came into the bullpen with Spencer, "Y/n. Dave," he nodded at you two.
Spencer didn't care if he was interrupting Hotch, he pulled you into a hug. You knew he wasn't one for hugs, but this just showed how much he cared about you.
He pulled away and Hotch sent him a look so Spencer blushed and stepped away. Hotch cleared his throat, "Y/n, we need to talk."
You knew this was coming and gave a small nod. Hotch lightly touched your elbow to lead you to his office. Rossi followed without even asking, his hands tucked in his pockets. He wasn't going to leave you right now.
Hotch didn't say anything as he held open the door for the both of you. Hotch and Rossi exchanged a look as you sat down on the couch. Rossi sat down next to you, Hotch leaned against his desk in front of you.
"Y/n, you don't have to do this. We can try to put him away with the evidence we have. If you don't feel comfortable-"
You cut him off, "Hotch, you were a lawyer. You know that the evidence we have won't even put him away for a couple of years. We need a confession." Hotch sucked in a breath, crossing his arms. His reaction told you you were right.
Rossi spoke up, "Y/n, you don't have to do this. We can try-"
"Dave, it's not going to work. He knows this! That's why he turned himself in. He wants to see me, to talk to me one more time." You blurted out. You didn't even know you used his first name with Hotch there.
Hotch didn't comment on it. "Y/n, he's going to bring everything back up. He's going to try to get you to break down."
"I know." You sighed, "Dammit, Hotch, I know." Hotch's usually stoic face was sad.
Rossi shook his head, rubbing his fingers over his chin, "I'm talking to him, Aaron."
Hotch's eyebrows furrowed, "Dave-"
"Aaron." They stared at each, both of them fighting for dominance.
Then Hotch backed down, "I'll go with you." He knew Rossi wouldn't back off. If Rossi was going in, he would at least need to go with him.
"Aaron-"
"That's final, Dave. I'm not leaving you alone in a room with him. We both know what you will do." Your eyebrows quirked up at his statement. Would Rossi really try to hurt your father because of you?
Hotch straightened up, "We don't have much time before he asks for y/n again."
Rossi stood up, "Then, let's go." Hotch seemed unsure of allowing this, but he understood why Rossi would want to talk to the man.
