You joined the BAU six months ago. It was nerve-wracking to say the least. You were 32, young and naive some would say, and life had never been easy for you.

You remembered the day you had been interviewed by Aaron Hotchner; your now fearless boss:

You stood at an office door, reading the name Unit Chief Aaron Hotchner. Your body was quivering with anticipation. Tentatively, you knocked three times. You heard a gruff, 'come in,' and you opened the door to reveal a dark-haired middle-aged man. He was handsome, you knew that much, dark and mysterious, the definition of brooding. He looked up from the work on his desk and when he saw you, stood up, holding out his hand for you to shake.

"Aaron Hotchner." He introduced himself, his face void of any emotion. Boy, was he scary with his dark looks and expressionless face.

"F/N L/N," You greeted, "Nice to meet you, sir." You shook his hand and he gestured for you to take a seat.

You did and he cleared his throat, "Call me Hotch, 'sir' isn't necessary." You smiled warmly at his statement even if he didn't return in. You could tell he wasn't one to give others smiles so easily, that was fine, you could respect that.

He looked at his paperwork, "F/N L/N. Quite a resume," he preceded to list off all of the things you had accomplished. You could tell he was a little impressed by your accomplishments at your young age, but it wasn't anything new to you.

He finally finished, closing the file, "Welcome to the team Agent L/N." He stood up and held out his hand for you to shake again.

You looked at him with a quirked eyebrow, "I'm hired?"

This time you could see a smile pulling at his lips, "That is, if you wish to be a part of my team. Then yes, you're hired, y/n."

You shook his hand and surprising him, you gave him a small hug. "Thank you, sir."

"You don't have to call me that," he reminded you, but you just shrugged as if it meant nothing to you. He deserved to be called sir, you respected him, who wouldn't?

"I'll have our technical analyst show you around. You start Monday." He gave you a nod, telling you where to find Penelope Garcia, then dismissed you.

You remembered the day so clearly. After your interview, you met Garcia, one of your best friends now. She was shocking to say the least, a person you wouldn't think would work in the FBI, but that's what you loved about her. Her flare.

You met the rest of the team too. Derek automatically started calling you Lil Mama. You didn't mind and embraced his flirty jokes, it was just Derek Morgan. JJ and Emily were your friends too, you immediately hit it off with them. You guys went out together every chance you got, but let's just say, never challenge Emily in a drinking game. Spencer Reid, or Spen, as you call him now, interested you. Not in a sexual way, god no. His brain made you feel stupid, but you loved him nonetheless. You liked to read and you two could talk about books for hours on end. He was definitely your best friend on the team.

And then there was David Rossi. You knew who he was before he even introduced himself. Who didn't? Unless you lived in a cave like a hermit. When you had shook his hand and he smiled at you, you had felt tingles down your spine. Never had an older man had that affect on you. Christ, he could be your dad, but something about him lured you in. He was always so caring towards you, offering his wisdom anytime you needed it. And over the months you spent on the team, he was always the first to comfort you after a bad case, make sure you were okay. It didn't help your crush, not at all, but it made you realize why you saw him in such a positive light.
