TW: mentions of panic attacks, night terrors, minor character injury.

It did not go your way. Not at all. Within twenty minutes of arriving at the BAU, Hotch stepped out onto the catwalk, alerting everyone of a new case.

You had sighed, wishing you could've had at least one day to settle in. Hotch quickly briefed the team in the conference room before declaring wheels up in thirty.

Everyone left the conference room but you and Rossi. You packed up the case files and he touched your arm as he stood behind you.

"You ready for this?" He asked, his voice gentle and caring.

You shrugged, "Would've liked a day to catch up on paperwork, but I'll be fine. Let's just catch this bastard."

He smiled, "Okay, well, let's do that so we can get back home." You made a small smile and he walked away, knowing you didn't want to make it obvious you two were together.

You sat down in one of the jets seats, placing your bag in one of the compartments. Derek plopped down in the seat across from you.

Rossi and Hotch went to their usual table seat, but not before Rossi sent you a wink. JJ and Spencer were on the couch conversing quietly. Emily was in her own seat, her eyes closed, trying to catch up on sleep.

You glanced up at Derek, "What's up, Der?"

"Nothing. Just makin' sure you're okay." He replied, sitting back in his seat and pulling out his headphones.

"Why wouldn't I be?" He gave you a look and you sighed, pulling out a book. "I'm okay. I had to week off to mull over it."

Derek nodded, "Did it help?"

You buckled your seatbelt, the rest of the team following. As the jet rose you gave a nod, "Yeah."

Derek smiled, putting on his headphones, "I think Rossi wants you."

Your eyebrows furrowed, "What?" Derek chuckled, his eyes pointing to behind you. He closed his eyes, turning his music up.

You glanced behind you and saw Rossi was looking at you. Damn. He pointed with his eyes for you to sit by him.

You shook your head slowly and he frowned, patting the seat under the table. You shook your head again and he gave you a demanding look.

Not wanting him to draw attention, because he definitely would, you got up and walked over to him. Luckily, JJ and Spencer had dozed off already, not paying attention.

You sat down beside Rossi, who smirked in satisfaction. Hotch looked up from his paperwork, "Hey, y/n."

"Hi." you greeted nervously, shooting Rossi an annoyed look. Hotch paid no attention, going back to his paperwork like he didn't know anything was going on. You were grateful for it.

You looked to Rossi, "Hi, Rossi."

He smirked, "Did you want to discuss the case?" Oh, hell no. He did not just make it sound like you were the one wanting to sit by him.

You clenched your jaw, "Sure." His eyes lit up, teasing you. Hotch glanced up and you tore your eyes away from Rossi to look at him.

Hotch slid a case file over to you and Rossi, "Go for it." You opened the case file.

"Thanks, Hotch." He nodded at you and shot Rossi a stop-being-a-cocky-dick look before going back to work.

Rossi's eyes only lit up and he took a few papers from the case file, brushing your hand with his. It sent tingles along your skin and you knew that was the purpose.
