This extra chapter will tell all of what Inko went through. On a side-note a 100 demon years is 1 human year. On to the story!
Third POV
Let's start this flashback back with a good memory. A 700-year old Inko was playing with her twin sister Abigail in the castle's private garden. From birth, these twins were never apart for too long. If one was around, the other was surely near somewhere. Even their powers showed how they evened each other out. Inko's were based on offense and Abigail's were based on defense. Everyone in the castle knew the twins were equally strong yet also a force to be reckoned with together.
It was also fairly easy to tell them apart. They both had vibrant green eyes and dark green hair but that's where the physical similarities end. Abigail had a pixie haircut, freckles, a red arrow-tail and she always spoke her mind. Inko had long hair that was usually held back by a bow, a black arrow-tail, and she was often outspoken.
The two were climbing one of the fruit trees to get a better view of the sunset. They sat on the highest branch and looked over the kingdom as it bathe in the soft glow of the dying sun. After sitting in a comfortable silence, Inko spoke up. "Hey Abby..." "Yes, Inko?" She replied, turning her full attention to her sister. "When you become Queen, can we still go on adventures?" Inko knew that Abigail would be the one to claim the throne since she is older by 5 minutes. Even though Inko was fine with this, she still worried the two of them would become distant. Sure their parents couldn't spend much time with them and when they did it was always amazing! But.....in the end they still really only had each other. "Of course we can little sis! Nothing can stop me from spending time with you."
"Forever and always?"
"Forever and always."
They wrapped their tails together and connected their foreheads. This was their way of making a special promise to the other. A promise that both are too stubborn to break. "Your Highnesses, her Majesty says it's time for dinner." A voice said as the two broke away from each other. The twins looked down to see one of the butlers. "WE'RE COMING!" They yelled out in unison.
Inko and Abigail scrambled down the tree. Of course, they could've flown down but neither learned how to fly yet. The chatter and laughter of the two girls were always a delight to everyone in the castle who heard it.
Now let's skip to a few hundred years later. Inko and Abigail are now 2,500 years old under Abigail's rule. Inko was in the garden collecting flowers while humming a tune. She was gonna make flower crowns for everyone. Suddenly screams and explosions could be heard while fires can be seen coming from the other side of the castle. A bruised soldier came and said, "Princess Inko, hurry and come with me. The castle is under attack." When the words left the soldier's mouth, all Inko could think about is Abigail. "Princess Inko, wait!" The soldier's plea fell on deaf ears as she summoned her dark green wings and flew as fast as she could to the throne room.
She burst the door open and shot flames at the enemies around her sister. Her heart clenched when she saw how bloodied and bruised Abigail was. Even though Abigail's powers were based around defense, she can only last so long. "Inko.....I need you.....to leave." Abigail said, breathing heavily. "I'm not leaving you! There must be another-" Inko was interrupted.
"Oh looks like someone's joining the death list today."
Inko knew who the voice belongs too. Their parents warned them of him long ago. The one and only Zalgo. To buy more time, Inko threw the hottest fireballs she could muster in her current mental state yet Zalgo dodge each one. He was then pushed back to the farthest wall by a force field. Abigail started coughing up blood. She was already pushing her magic and body so she didn't know how long it was gonna hold. "Come on Abby, we just need to get you out of here then we-" "No....you need to go." Abigail stopped Inko from getting her off the floor. She knew she wasn't gonna make it. She lost too much energy and blood at this point. She opened a portal where only Inko can go through.
