Now it was time for my most anticipated lesson. I didn't know if I was excited for it or dreading it. I had heard from many Gryffindors that potions was the worst lesson by far, even those who were good at it seemed to hate it. However people kept telling me that because of me, that might change.
So basically, no pressure but my entire house was counting on me.
As I headed towards the dungeons with Sarah that morning, I saw a lot of students with green coloured ties. Among them the two who had made fun of me, Mac and Cheese haired guy and Bole.
The group of Slytherins were all huddled together away from the Gryffindors who were also huddled together. These people sure take their houses seriously, I thought as I headed towards the group of red tied Gryffindors. This is more like a cult than an actual cult.
"Hey look! It's the Gryffindor saviour!" Yelled the Mac and Cheese guy as he pointed at me. His friends all laughed, but I simply rolled my eyes.
"Hey look! It's the guy that has no real friends and..." time to use my little gift, with one quick trip inside his thoughts I knew what to say. "has a massive crush on my friend Sarah" Silence. Then it hit me. "Wait, WHAT! You have a massive crush on my friend Sarah!" More silence. The Slytherins were giving Mac and Cheese wierd looks as if waiting for him to confirm or deny that. But he simply stared at me with wide eyes.
"I- I felt you- You looked into m-" he started muttering, everyones attention on me and him. He then started speaking louder and clearer. "You looked insi-"
"Enough of this nonsense Mr. Warrington." Everyone stared at Father, terrified. But not nearly as scared as Warrington himself, who looked like he was about to faint any second now.
"I thought we'd already had a discussion about this, didn't we Mr. Warrington?" Father continued.
"Y- yes S-ir" Warrington said, not making eye contact with anyone in the room.
"Well I'm glad you remembered nothing of what I told you." He said, smacking the back of his head gently (ish). He then turned his attention to the other students. "Well? What are you all standing around for? Get in and sit down."
No one had to be told twice.

"Wrong again Miss. Averall. That will be another 5 points from Gryffindor" Father said for the third time as Sarah tried to answer his impossible questions. "It's not two unicorn hairs needed, it's two and a half." The Slytherins snickered at that, but I was furious. I could tell so were the other Gryffindors, but no one dared to say anything. They knew that Father could make things miserable for you. But when he asked one of my classmates about a potion we hadn't even looked at yet, that's when I lost it.
"Can you not?" I said interrupting his explenation on why that answer was very very wrong.
He stared at me along with everyone else in the classroom. "Excuse me?"
"What on earth do you have against Gryffindors?" I asked him as I stood up. I felt Sarah tug my sleeve as if to tell me to sit down, but I didn't listen.
"Listen to me Poppy, you have no-"
"Is it because of Lily?" Everyone held their breaths and Father's face paled.
"Detention Poppy." He said in a quiet voice.
"You know what, Fuck you Father" And with that I left the room, leaving everyone staring in complete shock.
