🦋Naomi's POV 🦋

I looked at the brightness on my screen one more time before I sped off.

I never got texts from my brother so when I saw this one my heart dropped and the words I had read kept playing like a broken record in my head.

I picked up my phone quickly and called my brother's number and blue toothed it to my car.

"Hello?",he said.

I was scared,too scared to ask him what I wanted to fearing the answer that could possibly break me all over again.

"Hello naomi are you there?", he asks again.

At this point I feel my eyes starting to burn from the built up tears threatening to spill.

"Please nate please tell me she is okay please", I ask him in a bare whisper.

He takes a few seconds too long to answer and I start to feel in uneasy feeling in my heart.

"Nai..she's in critical conditions but she is perfectly healthy and she's sleeping right now so she's peaceful."

"Does she look pale?"

"No but if she did her brown skin would mask it."

I then hear coughing in the background and my heart drops again.

"Hey nate give me the phone I'm pretty sure she doesn't wanna talk to you," makaila says which makes me smile hearing her voice again.

"Well guess she's not asleep anymore and we both know I'm Naomi's favorite sibling" ,nate says.

"Yea I'm not getting in this conversation you guys no I have no favorites," I say to them knowing exactly who my favorite is.

"Makaila are you okay like are you feeling well?", I finally ask

"Hey nai I'm totally fine you don't have to worry about me I still got it in me I might be old but I'm not that old I don't have to go just yet bighead."

"Makaila your talking like you are older than me your only 16, not only you dont have to but you can't go I still need to meet your future husband."

"Haha everyone knows I'll be single for the rest of my life,"she says as she coughs more.

"Makaila I'm on my way you need to rest I'll see you when I get there okay?"

"Okay nai love you."

"Love you too."

I finally pull up to this huge ass hospital.

As I make my way in I see my parents start to head out.

"Where are you guys going", I ask them

"Oh kaila wants us to go get her some food and snacks do you want anything?"

"Uh yeah where are you guys going?"

"Chick-fil-a she wouldn't let us choose anything else and then we might go to Walmart to get the snacks."

"Okay I want ummm two meals because I won't be here long and i wanna save one for ma- uhhh later."

"Ummm okay?,"they say.

"Okay so I want a cool wrap with avocado lime ranch, a large fry and Dr.Pepper and a 30pc chicken nugget with a large fry and sprite."

"Nai we know you don't eat a 30pc chicken nugget but we'll get it since we know who it's for."
