Iredessa's home was always quiet. Her parents were gone... Her hobbit hole was nice and orderly. The young hobbit sat in her armchair reading. The occasional crackle from the fire would startle her. This was how most days were. Suddenly a ding went off and she jumped.

Iredessa got up and pulled out her pumpkin cakes and set them down to cool. Maybe I'll take them to Bilbo! I haven't seen him in quite a while. So she scrounged for a woven basket, gently set the cakes in it, and walked out of her secure home.

The night was dark and cold, but windless. Iredessa's boots shuffled along the dirt. Her mother was an elf so she had normal feet. She also was a tad taller than the other hobbits. She quickly trudged up the hill to the biggest home in the Shire and knocked on Bilbo's door. No answer. Should I just go in? She followed her instincts and walked in.

The house was a fiasco. Dwarves. Loads of dwarves were rampaging throughout the peaceful house. She couldn't remember seeing a people so wild.  Iredessa could faintly hear Bilbo nagging somewhere in the halls. She attempted to squeeze past the dwarves and along the way they would shove their hands into the basket and snatch a cake.

When she made it through the crowd, Iredessa tripped and feel. Instead of falling she felt comforting arms catch her. "Are you okay?" A dark hair dwarf asked.

Iredessa, in shock, answered, "Y-yes. "

"No worries! I caught the cake!" A blonde dwarf popped behind him carrying the basket.

The one who caught her helped her up then the blonde one handed her her basket and said, "I'm Fili!"

"And I'm Kili! May we ask your name?"

Iredessa stood speechless a moment. "MynameisIredessa," she rushed. They both looked confused. "Iredessa. My name is Iredessa."

Kili lit up a smile while Fili began to ramble. "I think I have a cousin named Iredessa... Or maybe it was a dog... No it was definetly that lady in the market..."

Kili pulled her away from his brother and started bombarding questions on Iredessa."How old are you?"

"34"

 "What's your favorite color?"

 "Blue."

 "Where do you come from?"

 "Down the trail."

 "Do you have any siblings?"

 "Nope."

"Can I call you Dessa? Iredessa is much too long."

She gave a confused grin. No one ever has before. "I suppose, I kind of like it."

Kili smiled. "Well, why are you here?"

"I came to bring Bilbo some cakes. What about you dwarves?" She asked politely.

"We are really going on a quest. Would you like to join us?" Kili asked her with heavy enthusiasm.

Her jaw dropped. "WHAT?! Really? I'd love to!!!"

"Well you'd have to confirm it with Thorin, but he never said I couldn't have a plus one," Kili chuckled

Iredessa smiled. This was going to be fun.

So I am actually editing this story before continuing because in the past year I've matured in my writing and I read over this story and it was a mess so I'm trying to fix it before updating. Sorry.
