Chapter FIVE: Family Reunion II

It was 6:25 p.m. The boys were getting ice cream from Baskin Robins. Elijah and Ramond stayed there talking for over an hour. Even after finishing their ice cream. 
Elijah looked at his phone and it was almost time for him to get home, he had to be home by 7:30. "Shit. I gotta go" Elijah said while chuckling. They were only 15 minutes away from his house, it could have been an easy walk but Ramond wouldn't allow it. "I don't want you walk home. Come on get in the car"Ramond offered.
"Do you even KNOW the way to my house?" Elijah joked.
"You can tell me the directions".

The boys both walked out of the place and walked to the camry and got in. It didn't take them long to get to the house, they were just talking and laughing.
" 'Lijah can we sit with you, Freddie and Miles on Monday?" Ramond asked. "We?" Elijah asked jokingly.
"Me, Omar, Victor, Landon, and Naomi".

Elijah thought to himself for a while. It would be good for Miles because he has a little crush on Victor anyway.
"Sure".
Elijah and Ramond got out of the car and walked inside of the house. There was Ramond's younger sister, Asia-Lynn who was 16 and his younger brother Dallas who was 15, watching Trinkets on Netflix. They both weren't paying any attention to Elijah until they saw Ramond.

"Hey Ramond" Asia-Lynn said flirtatiously. "You two friends again?" Dallas asked, " I haven't seen him since I was 10". Their parents walked out of the room. (Their parents are divorced) His dad came in zipping up his pants and his mom was in the process of putting on her shirt. His dad is Jonathan Davis, 38 who is a barber, and his mom is Lena Davis ,36 and a veterinarian.

All of the teenagers in the house were just staring at the adults.
"Um..hi Ramond" Lena said swiftly trying to get the focus off of the fact that she was doing her ex-husband, "you two friends again?" Jonathan asked.

"Uh- I don't know are we?" Elijah coughed. "I guess" Ramond laughed. "Bye-bye" Ramond said awkwardly and walking out the door.

"So? You and Ramond?" Jonathan teased.
"No-No-No-No... Nah..Nah. We not just finna scroll past that" Asia-Lynn interuppted. "How did dad get in the house without us knowing?" Dallas askes
curiously.
"Why do you think my door was locked when you tried coming in?" Lena joked, "um- me and your dad decided that he's gonna stay with us again".
"So y'all are back together?" Elijah smiled. " Kind of more than that" Jonathan said with a crooked smile. Lena put her right hand up and showed off the engagement ring.

"OH MY GODDDDD!!!" Asia-Lynn screamed while jumping up and down on the couch. Dallas started fanning his eyes to keep the tears from falling, and Elijah just smiled and got a little teary-eyed gave Lena a hug, and even let out a little squeal  he picked her up and swung her around. They are excited.

"When's the wedding?" Asia-Lynn asked playfully.
"We're thinking about having it in April" Lena stated, "because I really love Spring and that's the season we met".
"And it gets hot" Jonathan joked.
"Awwww" Dallas said. "That's so cute" Asia-Lynn giggled plopping on top of his back. "Pizza?" Elijah asked.

"Yeah. Let's get pizza" Jonathan agreed pressing his lips against his fiancée's.

On the way home Ramond thought that it was nice to have his bestfriend back. Him and Elijah have been friends since kindergarten , but Ramond didn't get popular until 5th grade and didn't become well-know for his glowup until 7th-8th grade. Girls were all over him and he liked the attention so much that he started to forget about his bestfriend a little bit, then a little bit turned into completely. He didn't really become friends with Victor, Landon and Omar until the 8th grade. The same time him and Elijah stopped being friends. It didn't hit him until now.

What he did to Elijah was so fucked up. He wouldn't be surprised if Elijah hated him after all of that. Just 10 years of friendship that was thrown away is starting to build back up. This could've been their 14th year being friends.

Ramond pulled into his driveway and it was just the same but just Jasón's car was missing. He must have gotten settled already, Ramond thought. He walked into the door and nobody was there. They must have been still helping Jason move. He texted his parents.
Hey where are you guys?
We're at your tio Shawn's house. We wanted to stop by. You can invite a few friends. Not a party.

Ramond took up his mom's offer. Instead of asking Victor, Landon or Omar to come over, he asked Naomi.
