It was Thanksgiving day. Ramond convinced his parents to do thanksgiving at the beach house, but for right now he was working in the bakery with his grandfather, Vito. He had a bit of a mustache and he had great hair on his head but it was white. This would be a good chance right now to tell him that he was bi and in a relationship with Elijah right now.

"Nieto, I'm closing the bakery early for Thanksgiving" his grandfather told him getting the plates and putting them into the place with all of the dishes and the finished desserts. "You inviting Naomi to the thanksgiving dinner? I haven't seen her in a while."

Ramond didn't know how to respond to that. "Actually we broke up...last month".

"Oh mijo, what happened?" Vito frowned rubbing Ramond's back.

"She cheated on me. But it's not a big deal though, I already found someone new..." Here it goes, Ramond thought, the big moment.

"That's great!" Vito exclaimed, "what's her name?"

"Actually, I need to talk to you...sit down". They went to sit on one of the customer's chairs by the door, and Ramond's heart started pounding out of his chest. "Do you remember Elijah Davis?"

"Your friend from when you were little, of course. Who would ever forget him?" Vito laughed.

"I remember how much you loved Abuelita and.."

"I know how much I loved her. Just get to the point" he interrupted and also let out a laugh.

"Abuelito, I like guys, the same way I like girls. And,
Elijah is the new person that I found, hell the way that you put it is that I want to spend the rest of my life with him the way Abuelita got to with you". Did he just say that he loved Elijah? It's only been two weeks?. Ramond rambled. After he got done rambling he got nervous and noticed Vito's silence. "You're not saying anything".

"Well..." Vito's voice was stern and cold. "I see you have made your choice, now I have to make mine. I need you to leave this bakery, and never come back here at all. I don't want to see you. Ever. Again."

"W-what?" Ramond stammered as the tears filled his eyes. "Abuelito no.."

"Ramond. Go." this time his voice was colder. "It's not right of you to be with another man. A boy shouldn't be with another boy. Now leave. My. Bakery."

"Abuelo, you were one of the people I looked up to for my entire life!" Ramond yelled as he stood up.

Vito stayed sitting down, " you being with a man, is not looking up to me".

"Ok then, grandfather" Ramond firmly said trying to fight the tears from falling in his eyes he kicked the chair down before he left the bakery.

Elijah was at his grandmother's house for Thanksgiving. Some of his cousins and aunties and uncles were there, but the house wasn't as big as theirs.

"Did you talk to Ramond? Try to get him to come over here?" Lena asked him, she was wearing an orange sweater and some brown pants and orange boots. She was dressed almost like a leaf.

"Yeah, he said he was coming" Elijah said looking at his phone. He was wearing an orange sweater than faded into yellow at the bottom and some denim blue jeans.

He went over with his family to say the prayer before digging into the food, the meal was your average black family thanksgiving meal.

A/N: i'm black myself so yea.

Mac N' Cheese, green beans, ham, potato salad, and the turkey.

"We all know that auntie Raine didn't make all this food" Dallas whispered to Asia and Elijah.

Asia-Lynn was wearing a brown long-sleeve shirt with some burgundy pants and some hughes. Dallas was wearing a red collar shirt with some horizontal stripes on them.
"Shut up" Asia-Lynn nudged him and noticed her mother's cold ass stare.

There was a knock on the door, Elijah's uncle Stanley was about to go get the door but Elijah was closer and he was the only one expecting somebody. It was Ramond in a burgundy wool sweater and just some black dress pants. Elijah smiled and looked into Ramond's eyes. They were puffy, it was clear that he had been crying.

"Is this the famous Ramond?" Elijah's uncle Stanley asked really loudly. "Elijah told me so much about you!"

"How much?" Ramond let out a forced laugh.

"Enough to know that you came back into his life, and will possibly soon capture his heart".

Ramond didn't plan on staying long, he was coming to get Elijah so he could see his family. Ramond even interacted with some of his younger cousins until he grabbed a to-go plate and left out the door with Elijah. When they got into the car, Elijah needed to ask Ramond what was bothering him.

"Did anything happen before you...got here?" Elijah asked softly.

Ramond hesitated, he was about to say that he was upset that his grandfather closed the bakery early, but he realized that there shouldn't be any secrets or lies in the relationship.

"I came out...to my abuelito" Ramond's voice shakes, he couldn't really look at Elijah.

"And how did it go?" Elijah hesitated.

". He fired me from the bakery and told me he never wants to see me again..so it went well" Ramond sniffed.

Elijah placed his hand on Ramond's hand on the steering wheel. "If you want a job, then I could talk to my boss or you could talk to your dad about working at his restaurant" Elijah assured.

"Elijah, thank you but that's not on my mind right now", Ramond said, pulling Elijah in for a kiss, "I just need you to be here for me".

"Ok" Elijah pouted a little bit.
