"Why can't I just swallow down my emotions rather than chocking on them?"

As roofs caved in from the overwhelming heat that was bound to doom the entire village, the flames roared as they spread from house to house, forcing the residents to flee with tears streaming down their eyes

As roofs caved in from the overwhelming heat that was bound to doom the entire village, the flames roared as they spread from house to house, forcing the residents to flee with tears streaming down their eyes.

But none of that effected Nezuko as she gazed upon the thing she had been so desperately looking for. The thing she tried to save. No, it wasn't her trying to look for the fountain to save everyone in the village. It was them.

The only remaining structure that wasn't in fire was the fountain that was built right in the dead centre of the town. Many of the town's residents scurried to the pond in a hurry, to try to collect as much water as they could to make at least the slightest dent in the damage being dealt to the town. But it was all futile. Because at the centre of the pond stood a monster.

A demon.

A child.

The figure that stood on top of the fountain was disappearing every now and then, leaving a corpse lying down in a pool of it's own blood.

The demon was eliminating anyone who tried to retrieve water.

Nezuko knew why they were guarding the water. It was also the answer to her confusion and shock when she saw that this particular town on fire.

The fountain's water was magical. It was tainted with the blood of Poseidon, god of the sea. The water guaranteed safety. So, if there was ever a case of emergency, example being the fire blazing at that moment, it would put it out with one drop.

But this demon was smart. Of course they were. Because it was him...

She recognized the slimness of the body, she recognized the earrings her father gave to them, and of course, the dark crimson hair that belonged to her dear brother.

Nezuko didn't resist the urge to call out.

"Tanjiro?"

Master had told him to prevent anybody from interfering with his plan

Master had told him to prevent anybody from interfering with his plan. Usually, Tanjiro would be the first and only person Muzan would share his plans with. He was always involved with whatever Muzan was doing. So, he was quite upset when Muzan told him that he wouldn't be assisting him on his mission this time.

Did Muzan find someone better? Was he going to be replaced? Tanjiro didn't want to be hated again. He just wanted to be by his master's side.

But, Muzan asked him to do something for him. Tanjiro would never let Muzan be disappointed in him. He would never let that happen again. That smiling face, embracing him in his arms; was the only thing Tanjiro craved. He didn't care for human flesh. He didn't even care if he wasn't allowed to step foot outside ever again.

He just needed to be with Muzan.

So, here he was, protecting the only thing that could save the residents of the town. With his life.

Even as a demon, Tanjiro was smart. He wasn't anywhere close to losing his morality to the demonic symptoms that a demon gained. That was common, losing all sense of humanity. And yes, they once had that. All demons were once human after all.

Tanjiro knew about the town's fountain. He remembered it from his early childhood. The vague memory of walking down towards it. Limping and trudging throughout the night to reach the water. To heal the wounds he wore at such a young age.

He knew that he fell unconscious after healing the wounds. He was lucky that nobody found out about them. Tanjiro was just at the right place at the right time. No one had witnessed it.

Even if it was just a single droplet, the whole town would be saved from the blazing hell. And Tanjiro would never let that happen.

He felt a little better after he sliced through the fourth person's chest. Tanjiro loved the satisfying sound of the loud thump that echoed as they fell onto the ground, motionless. He was a horrible person. He already knew that. Nothing would be able to justify his actions. All that was set for him in his future was his afterlife, burning in hell.

As the fifth person came running up in a frantic hurry, Tanjiro started to become bored. Without Muzan, there was nothing that came in mind that would be able to satisfy his loneliness and boredom. Only he could help him.

It was another half hour until the town was almost completely burnt down, though, a few of the buildings surrounding the fountain were still standing. Tanjiro was amazed at the architecture that allowed for that to happen. Though, it still wouldn't last for very long. He was still in the dark about what was happened outside of the area the fountain was in because the remaining buildings blocked any view from any angle.

That also included anyone outside of it.

Tanjiro took a moment to stare down at his clothing. He admired every strand of the clothing. Because it was made right in front of him by his dear master. It was a smooth cream like white silk. The silk was sewn together to create a royal like tunic that stretched down to his thighs like a nightgown. A red ribbon was wrapped around his neck. Muzan also sew to-gether a pair of black shorts that had beautiful gold flowery pattern weaved into it. He also wore a light white cape. The cloak was semi-transparent.

His legs were left to hang—shoeless—as he sat on the top of a statue of the town's 'hero' whom he referred to as 'Mister Manipulative Fake Hero Coward.'

The only reason why that man got to fame was supposedly defeating an SS-Ranked demon to save the town. Though, all of the witnesses were actually victims of that demon, and were losing their minds due to the trauma. The 'hero' tricked them into thinking that he defeated that malevolent demon when they all hallucinated it. What really happened was hah he took down a very, very, low ranking demon in the disaster site.

In return, he was allowed to live a leisurely life without doing anything for the town. He didn't even have to set foot outside for a walk. And that's what he did. He just abused the servants that served under him and made them so his bidding. Like a dictator.

Tanjiro actually destroyed the head of the statue and smoothed the 'neck' part of the statue down so he could sit on it without it hurting. He threw the head into one of the buildings around him, taking the while house down with it. Tanjiro was angry that he still couldn't see anything happening outside, even after destroying a building. He felt like the buildings were out to get him. Dang...

He was left like this for another half hour, occasionally taking a life when someone tried to save their burning little town. Tanjiro was so bored that he even let his hood down.

But something surprised him. Something he never would have expected.
