Nezuko's POV

Nezuko ran through the hallways of the base, panting as she tries to find any trace of her younger brother inside of the building.

What was she thing? Leaving him all alone in a night like this? She was a horrible sister. One that couldn't even protect her own family..

Bam! Another door slammed open. To reveal nothing but emptiness.

The rooms were dark and empty due to the demon corps scouting around and protecting the vulnerable people from the demons.

Giyu had ordered her to stay inside the demon corps and guard the base. Though, she should've asked someone else to do it. Then, maybe her brother wouldn't have gone missing.

(Yes, I've been spelling Giyu's name wrong for like-)

Nezuko also wondered if the reason why Giyu had asked her to stay, was to keep her safe from any of the powerful demons lurking tonight.

That may all change in a short amount of time.

"Tanjiro!" She shouted, hearing her worried voice echo through the halls. Even if her legs were starting to give out, she would keep searching until she had Tanjiro back in her sight!

Being carefree of the rest of her surroundings, apart from searching for a missing brother- she didn't see the small ledge that separates the demon slayers bedroom, to the main hallway.

Tripping over it, she yelled in surprise.

A sharp pain soared through her ankle.

"Argh!" She grunted, holding her ankle with her arms, rubbing it softly.

Nezuko didn't just...

That was when she heard another set of  footsteps echo across the hallways. She quickly readied herself in a protective position. Was it a demon? If so, how could a demon possibly reach inside of here?

The shadow of a figure slowly lurked closer and closer to Nezuko's current location. Right behind the corner was the stranger. Breathing in, she put a shaking hand over the handle of her sword.

Preparing herself, she watched as the figure appeared from behind the corner. Only to meet face to face with Giyu.

His face lit up in recognition immediately when he saw her.

"Nezuko!" He called out, running towards her. "What happened? You seem frantic!"

He slowly bent down to Nezuko's level, and began studying the ankle that appeared to be sprained.

The girl bit her lip tightly. "It's Tanjiro. He's missing."

A look of shock and horror spread across Giyu's face.

"H-how? We need to look for him!" Giyu shouted in disbelief.

Nezuko shook her head. "He isn't anywhere around here. I've search everywhere."

The man in front of her gritted his teeth. "And on a night like this.." he muttered under his breath.

Keeping eye contact, Giyu began to explain the problems going on outside. With much of Nezuko's horror.

"Theres a slaughter going on outside." He started, breathing heavily as he reminisced the images of blood splattered all over.

"I don't know who? Or what kind of power they have.. but.. at the rate this is going, none of us can do a thing to protect everyone else."

Her face must of looked horrified, because Giyu didn't continue until her face turned into a more concerned face.

"So, all we can do now- is pray that the demon doesn't come anywhere near the cities."

Nezuko thought. A slaughter? How could we be losing? The demon corps sent out thousands of members tonight? How could people be dying?

They needed to keep attention off of the cities and towns. But how could they accomplish that? They had no power. In other words, weak.

But..

She brought back Giyu's attention after he finished bandaging her ankle.

"I think I have an idea-"

Tanjiro's POV

The boy looked at his surroundings. Having the red light come of the blood moon, and the soft mist that flooded the air. It made it a perfect night for a massacre.

Giggling, he steps over the many corpse that lay on the ground. Many screams still fill his ears, but he shakes them all out.

It was fun. To see their suffering.

A beautiful coloured liquid spilling out everywhere. It made him smile.

His path was full of destruction. Even though he was walking a straight line, anything in his way of walking a clear path would be destroyed. Leaving nothing but mass destruction. Buildings being crumbled, and people getting murdered.

Tanjiro had never felt so alive! And this time, he was free!

He could do whatever he wanted without anyone stopping him.
