Soon after the whole "Hagrid was sent to Azkaban" incident, the truth about who it was came out of the shadows and Hagrid was released prior to the school year end. As it turns out, the former hier of Slytherin had opened the chamber allowing a horrible creature within to wreak havoc on the students. As to who it was and how it happened, I didn't bother on paying too much attention.

As for the students who had once been petrified they were brought back with Mandrakes, courtesy of Professor Sprout. Once they were okay, a small feast was held as a small celebration that they were up and walking. Eventually our time in Hogwarts came to an end for the second year, so once again I found myself on platform 9 3/4 awaiting for the train.

When I got on the train, I immediately looked around for Alex. I had somehow managed to convince her parents to let her stay during the whole summer with us. I recall telling them something along the lines of "private tutoring" and "training" and I'm thankful they bought it. I feel like it was honestly the least I could do without sticking my nose in to noticeably. Now all I had to do was break the news to her.

Once I spotted her I rushed over to her side pulling her into an empty compartment. I sat down excitedly while she simply looked at me with a confused face.

"Why are you so jumpy," she smiled sitting down.

I clasped my hands together and with my proudest posture I announced, "Yours truly has granted you a summer in the one and only "drumrolll please" Phoenix Manor."

Instantly a wave of shock contorted her face and she stayed frozen processing the information until she quickly stood up engulfing me into a tight hug. I patted her back while she joyously blurted, "Are you serious!?, I really appreciate it don't get me wrong thank you, but how did you pull of something like that?!"

She let go of me and sat back down allowing me to clear my throat, "Well I might have told them I was doing a special training with a private tutor and that the professor had space for another student. They bought the bait so now here we are."

She was bewildered for the most part but I knew she was entirely grateful when she breathed out in relief. During the last days at Hogwarts before summer, not once did she speak about what had happened but I knew she had been dreading this day since. I think this is why she felt even more grateful.

She then turned to me and asked, "What about my clothes and stuff."

"No worries, I'll have them sent over, " I assured her making her mouth the words thank you.

"What are you two babbling about?"

We spun our heads around to look at Malfoy standing near the entrance with a bag of sweets in his hand. He tossed it over to me and sat down putting his feet up on the opposite seat.

"What's this," I opened sack revealing high end candy from the finest shops.

"It's a gift from my mother to your family," he snatched a candy from inside and tore the wrapping taking a bite.

I snatched the candy from his hand and bit it myself, "Then that means it's mine Malfoy."

He crossed his arms in defeat and asked again, "Well what were you two going on about. I could practically hear you from the other cabin."

"I'm staying with the Phoenix's this summer, " Alex said as she kicked Malfoy's feet off the seat.

Swallowing the last piece of the candy, I continued, "Her parents granted her a summer with me so I was just telling her about it."

"How exciting, " he somehow managed to snatch another candy from the bag and carried on by saying, "Mother and Father are out of town on business so unfortunately they left me to your strange family Phoenix so I suppose I'll be accompanying you both for today."
