A.N~ Bask in his glory.
"Come on now class, get closer," Hagrid motioned us towards his hut, gathering us in a small circle around him. This would be his first class as the professor of Care of Magical Creatures and you could see how eager he was to begin. If anything, I was pretty eager myself as well, given that I had a special place reserved in my heart for all animals. Except spiders. I can't get past those eight eyes.
"I got a real treat for you today," Hagrid drew our attention from each other, "A great lesson. Follow me."
Moving in small groups we accompanied him to woods through a small path of dirt. I had taken of my robe so it wouldn't get dirty and loosened up my tie for comfort when I saw the others do the same.
"How much longer will this take," Pansy complained next to me in her squeaky voice. Ugh I hated the fact that she was still clinging to Malfoy and tagging along with us everywhere we went. Couldn't she tell that she wasn't wanted.
"Well maybe if you'd pick up the pace and shut your mouth, the walk would be much more enjoyable," I turned to look at her and she smirked back unsuspectingly. She headed for Malfoy who was in front of us and reached out her arms for him but before she could even touch him, I pulled her robes causing her to trip on a branch. I swooped in front of her and put my arm around Malfoy. Although he paid no mind to me, I still glanced back at Pansy and gloated in her face. She scoffed and walked over to Goyle's side, crossing her arms in anger.
Taking my arm off Malfoy, we continued walking until we eventually came to a clearing in the forest. Stepping over an old wall Hagrid instructed, "Alright you lads less chattering. Form a group over there and open your books to page 49."
I picked up the book in my hands and examined it. What did he mean by open it? There was a buckle securing it and it was glued shut. I opened my mouth to ask how we could open this thing but Malfoy beat me to it, "Exactly how do we do that."
"Just stroke the spine of course," The professor exasperated.
I turned the book on it's side and ran my fingers along the spine, causing it to latch open with a bang. Startled, I threw it in the air accidentally making it land at my feet angry. I shuffled back while it threw bites at my feet. I immediately threw my robe on it and forcefully closed it again after some struggling and some torn fabric. Embarrassed, I looked up from the book to see a couple of kids laughing. I didn't need a mirror to see how much of a mess I looked right now.
