A/N - Trigger warning - Abuse themes, also kind of a bummer... ❤❤❤

Chris

• Chris likes to act tough like a protective mask when he’s dealing with problems. He's always sweet to you regardless but it’s easy to tell when something is up. His home life isn’t the greatest and nights of impromptu sleepovers with basic first aid proved that. Chris always liked gentler touches compared to the negative and harsh blows his father could deal out. It takes a little while for him to just unload, not that he isn’t comfortable/ trust you but it takes him a while to deal with it. Chris will tear up and that’s when he lets it all unload. He doesn't expect much but it makes him feel better when you pull him into a hug and just talk him through it.

Teddy

• Teddy is pretty much an avid bullshitter/exaggerator on most days. Humour is a loose cover up for when he's upset in the sad context rather than anger. It’s a vulnerable side that only you truly get to see especially when he sneaks in to your room almost every night. You were the first person Teddy felt comfortable telling when his dad threatened to hold his ear to the stove to burn it off one night he drank too much. Teddy wouldn’t want to be babied but rather distracted via cuddles, card games, late night television if it was possible or kisses.

Gordie

• Gordie purely needs all the affection he can get. He is good at keeping it swallowed down and keeping himself together at most times but there are times where his home life or lack of gets to him. One time when he told you Eyeball made off with his deceased brother, Denny's hat. Gordie hadn’t appeared too distressed but not like you most certainly were sure he would be. It was his brother, no? Gordie is too logical for his own good and might remark that no one would notice it’s gone. You knew better, at this point it was easy to read him like a book. It was a good thing the clubhouse was vacant because you refused to leave until he talked it all out with you. That is how he slowly starts letting loose. Gordie wouldn’t want you to assume he’s upset off the bat, rather letting himself realize that yes he is upset and yes it’s okay to be upset. It makes him feel better when you listen, talk and maybe squeeze his hand lightly, it reassures him that he is loved and that everything will be alright.

Vern

• Vern is very emotional, especially compared the other four. Your boyfriend had a lot of shit to deal with: a bully for a brother, being poked fun at for weight issues and never going a day without being pushed around because he is shy. Before he met you, Vern only opened up when he was around them and even then it was only a little bit because he sometimes felt embarrassed admitting some things to them. With you he is more open although he might hold back with a few insecurities or choose to ask innocently as he can if it bothered you. Of course it didn’t bother you and Vern would believe it, leaning forward to place a sloppy kiss on your cheek. Why he thought that? Well the cobras, or Ace more or less had made fun of him and called him all sorts of names. All he needs is to be somewhere with you in relative privacy so he feels relaxed admitting it. Vern doesn’t really cry as he’s “used to it,” but the way you layer on the affection is something he is not quite all that used to so he might get a little overwhelmed that you care so much for him.

Ace

• Ace is more likely to get angry than he is to ever get full on upset. Ace is most definitely more likely to pretend to be the slightest bit upset to manipulate rather then be genuine or genuinely upset. Ace doesn't feel he has much to be sad about. He has full run of his house and nobody bothers him or even has the balls to tell him what to do/not to do. Everyone thinks he's a no good hoodlum and that’s okay because he is a no good hoodlum. Ace does not care for that shit. Even when he met you, realized he had a good thing and that it even lasted longer than his previous relationships. Ace has a good little world where he is in control but there is one thing that would upset him, even slightly. The one time he gets a phone call and the one morning you happen to be staying over is when an out of state deputy phoned to tell him the bad news, his mother had died. The same mother he grew up with and the very same who fled castle rock because his father ruined everything had died. It wasn't murder he had said but suicide and she had apparently left some assets to her only son John. You immediately notice the small twitches in his face and the tightening grip on the wired phone. Ace hung up the phone promptly after a curt goodbye. Ace never wants to be babied, never. Definitely won't admit he’s upset bit will go on more joyrides with the cobras. In fact he’s been more of an asshole than usual and its until he’s called out on it (preferably in privacy) that it slowly sinks in. Still won't admit it but he lessens his asshole behaviour but he will let you be affectionate with him. Sex is a thing that is likely to help him release everything, that and having someone to hold close each night as he falls asleep.

Eyeball

• Eyeball is not as bad as Ace and he also experiences what Chris goes through. Their alcoholic abusive father is just the worst and does the family name no favours (just like himself) when people spot it out like dirt. Eyeball is not very empathetic but also not a complete asshole, there are times where he will take a beating so that Chris doesn’t have to but that is still very occasional. It’s his gang reputation and last name that keeps him from needing to be empathetic. It’s times when he climbs through your window in need of light first aid that he realized how shit his life really is. Eyeball will not cry unless its something he can help but as your attending to his wounds with the gentlest of care, would he just start full on sniffling. Eyeball needs to be babied in this time and reassured (but not fully, there are some thing he does that you do not approve of) He won't say nothing but if you hold him and rock gently, it calms him. Light gentle kisses and light touches are what he craves, that and the driving words that he can do better, that there are other choices and options. You are the one that eventually gets him to call the police on their father, but it’s a step by step thing.
