24 - Stand By Me preferences - Christmas in castle rock

A/N- I got really sad thinking about their bad christmases so I added favourite drinks and foods to make it better. ❤❤❤

Chris

- The chambers household is often a quiet one come the holidays. His dad drinks excessively and Eyeball is just a little less of an asshole, to the point where he checks or see where Chris is going for Christmas or even giving him a few cents if he's in a good mood. It's the only time he's remembered of the good times before everything went to shit after his mother died.

- Ever since then, he and Teddy would spend the say cooped up in the treehouse. Planning ahead with treats and soda they either saved from their households or little money they put together to buy, usually a few days before when it was still quiet. Not much of a Christmas dinner as a picnic with basic homemade sandwiches and snacks. It may not be much but it beats being in the households they were in because atleast they could eat, smoke and play games in peace.

- If Chris had a girlfriend he would either still continue to go to the treehouse and maybe bring you along if the circumstances were similar or you just wanted to join them. If not, Chris might bet invited over to yours for the day and that usually involved Teddy too because he was also your friend too. When they are over, it's best behaviour. Chris can be quite charming and Teddy is smart enough to tone down his language.

- Gift giving is something Chris is not used to, atleast in the significant sense. He has barely any money at it is so if he did decide to do so it would be soemthing he plans or made like promising to take you out on a romantic picnic, making a card, giving you a special "pen tattoo," or even offering to buy you some sweets. When Chris gets gifts he is often surprised and genuinely doesn't know what to do. He knows he feels touched that you remembered him and cared about him enough to get him something but he is speechless. A thank you doesn't cover it, he's giving kisses, hugs and sweet nicknames.

- Chris's favourite Christmas drink isn't really christmassy. Because of the new tradition, he prefers cola and is used to having lot's of it.

- As for favourite dessert, it would be anything sherbet, enough to have him make a face. But if he's at yours he will enjoy those homemade cookies and ice cream.

Gordie

- Christmas is a touchy day for Gordie with how he was treated or lack there of everyday but Christmas. His parents were not over his brother Denny's death and it meant that on that special day, he was reminded of it too. Under the Christmas tree there would be one thing wrapped and addressed to Denny that would linger like the stench of paint as if his parents still expected it to be open. Gordie's gifts were a reminder of the lack of attention they gave him. Gordie liked to write and get creative among other things boys his age liked but to recieve generic gifts like shoes the ones Denny would wear and other things like a football or an action figure.

- Gordie had learned not to voice his disappointment because 1, it's rude to do so, 2, His parent's point out Denny would have liked it and 3, Gordie just wants to be acknowledged even if it means he's given something he doesn't quite like.

- If Gordie had a girlfriend he would be on the phone constantly or see about joining them for Christmas dinner. Not that he felt it was intruding or anything but he wanted to see you and bet away and it normally happens as soon as you offer him to come over. Your family quite likes him so it helps him feel more at home there rather than at his house. Gordie likes knowing what you got and talking about your day.

- Gordie is very knowledgeable but doesn't have alot of money. He would either spend time writing a beautiful poem for you or if he did have some money he would buy your favourite chocolates. On the other hand he would be ecstatic to know he's acknowledged the same way even if it's homemade cookies, a kiss or sweets he likes. Gordie doesn't expect gifts but when he gets them it's a surprise and he's very grateful.
