Haruhi's little sister

Chapter 27

*Mai's POV*

It felt like he had been yelling for like a whole day when he finally stopped. But it's okay, I was having tea and cake with Ashlyn. Have I said that she's pretty as a princess!!! Tamaki walked over to us and sat down next to his sister. "so.... you good now" I look over when she starts talking, but she's not looking at her brother. He gets lower in his chair and I hear her say "guess not" I start to giggle, he is like a pouting kid. AND HE'S OLDER THAN ME!!! 

I hear someone say that we should head home, so I run up to Ashlyn "are you coming home with us?" I ask while giving my puppy pout. She smiles and nods. I squeal and run to tell big sister all about it. Next thing I know Tamaki is screaming again. Wait. He is yelling about how he and big sister aren't together. And Ashlyn is smirking and laughing. This is it!!! MY PARTNER IN SECRET MISSION!!! I'm getting ready to run over but the twins get there first. I pout, I wanted to tell her about secret mission. Oh well, we get to go home together so I can talk to her later. I sit and talk to big sister about my day. 

Still need a shorter nickname. Maybe I could call her Ash? Maybe Lyn? Ohhhhh I like that one-

I suddenly hear loud laughing from the twins. I look over to the loud laughing and....... why are they on the floor? "oh my god. she's great" I hear one twin say laughing. "We gotta have her on our team" the other says wiping his eyes. Wait!!! NO!!! I need her on my team, then I hear her say "well then. Game on boys." Maybe I can still get her to help me with my secret mission. I look over, deciding that I should maybe pay attention. She says bye to the twins... wait, she got it right? I guess so since everyone has a wow face.

*Kaoru's POV*

I hear Tamaki yelling "WHAT HAPPENED TO MY SWEET INNOCENT BABY SISTER" I look over to see Ashlyn pulling her brother's hand away from her mouth and laughing hysterically. I look over to Hikaru and we nod to each other and run over to her. "C'mon Ashlyn-" "-what did you say?!?!" I can see her trying to pull herself together, she looks cute when she's having fun- WAIT, did I just say cute, WAIT c'mon focus. Can't think about that now. "you gotta tell us" my brother and I say at the same time. I vaguely hear Tamaki yelling at her to not tell us.

She leans in closer "I said oh so the girlfriend has moved in, good for you bro-" I glance over to my twin internally hoping he doesn't get jealous. But he looks....fine? a little red but so is mine so... WAIT A MINUTE does he have a crush? Do I? FOCUS DAMN IT. She starts giggling again, too cute "then I said to leave a tie or something on the door knob when you guys, ya know. Then he started denying it so I said oh so you're not together but, and then he cut me off" she trails off laughing. 

My brother and I start laughing hysterically and we fall to the floor with tears in our eyes. I hear my brother next to me "HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHA....oh my god. she's great" I turn to him still laughing "we gotta have her on our team". We hear Tamaki yelling again, making us laugh harder, wiping tears from our eyes.

When we finally calm down enough to focus, she looks over to us with a serious look. "Well then. Game on boys" she starts grinning and we both run up and high five her still laughing at her brother. She walks over to grab her brother to head home and turns to us. She looks to us "I'm looking forward to this" then turns to me "bye Kaoru" then to my brother "bye Hikaru" she waves to us "see you in class"

I'm standing in shock and look to my brother having a silent conversation. How did she know? Was it a lucky guess?  I look back to her in awe. How? Most people still can't tell us apart, but she just met us. Wow she really is amazing. I feel my face getting red again and sneak a quick glance to Hikaru. He is staring after her but his face the same as mine, red. She turns back to the room and starts walking towards us.

"Is everything okay?" I snap out of it at the question. "You can tell us apart?" Hikaru and I look at each other then back to her, waiting for her answer "umm, yes. Is that a bad thing?" I hear her ask. We shake our heads and she walks away. She gets Haruhi and Mai and walks out. We wait a bit then decide to follow them. We walk within hearing distance of them but out of sight. 

"What was that all about?" we hear her ask Tamaki and Haruhi. Tamaki finally says "no one has been able to tell them apart except for Haruhi and now you. How do you do it? You just met them" No one? Not even their family? She looks to them "I just can" shrugs and walks down the hall. 

We wait where we are and I look to Hikaru, he looks puzzled. I look back down the hall and they are gone. I look back to Hikaru only to find him leaning against the wall staring down the hall where they disappeared. "Hey" I say gently so I don't scare him, but he doesn't hear me so I put a hand on his shoulder and he jumps. "Sorry. You okay?" he nods and I take his hand and lead him down the hall.

I think he has a crush but I'm not exactly sure given his confused expression. He has a crush on her, but so do I. Oh boy. This'll be an interesting talk later.
