Scarlet POV
Due to our busy life, Cassandra with her boyfriend, and the fact that I refused to be the third wheel, we seldom hang out together except lunchtime during working days. Thus, to redeem our time, we declared tonight as lady nights, without the guys joining us.
"Miguel, I will be late tonight, I'm going to have ladies night with Cassandra. She will send me back after that." I informed him about my plan.
"Where at?"
"Haven't decided yet, maybe just hit the cinema or shopping."
"Alright then, I can fetch you after that if you want me to." He offered.
"No, it's okay. You don't have to come. She will send me back."
"Sure," he shrugged and continues, "If that's what you want."
"You will be home after work?"
"Hmm, nope. I will be somewhere else."
"With the guys?" Their image popped out in my head while mentioning them.
"Yu-yup, with the guys but I will make sure I will be back early." Not sure if I heard it wrong but his voice stuttered, acting like he was hiding something. His behaviour was odd but I chose to ignore it.
"Don't worry about that. I will be fine and I have the keys too. Have fun then. I will leave for now. Bye, see you at home."
"You too, Caramel. Bye," I dashed out from the office room afterward as I noticed I was late by a few minutes. Cassandra might ready to lecture me due to my lateness, her habit after all.
After a few hours in the cinema, we were searching for a place for dinner before heading back to home. As we walked past few places, she suddenly grabbed my wrist, eyeing something with a suspicious look.
"Hey babe, I think I saw something." She said almost in a whisper tone while her eyes were looking at somewhere else.
"What-" I didn't finish my sentence as the sight in front of me causing a gasp escaped from my lips.
"That's Miguel, right?"
"Yeah, I think so," I answered looking at the two figures that occupied one of the tables in the restaurant; Miguel and a blonde girl.
"So, this was the reason he was stuttered earlier. He told me he will hang out with his buddies, but he fibbed." I mumbled mentally; don't want Cassandra to notice about it.
"Let's go." I pulled her away from there. I don't want to be in an awkward situation if he notices about us.
At the restaurant
"Who is that girl? Is that his client?" Cassandra asked once we settle down at the table with our food. We chose to have fast food since we failed to decide what to eat.
I shrugged my shoulder and let out an involuntary sigh.
"I don't know. He told me that he will be with the guys but what we saw earlier was different." I chided while munching on the grilled beef burger.
"Maybe just an old friend."
"Not sure and I don't have any interest to know." I tried to end the topic as it started to disturb my mind and I felt uneasy about that.
"Hey babe, are you okay?" She patted my hand. I guess she noticed my somber mood. I smiled, trying to hide my emotion but the tears that brimming in my eyes acted otherwise.
I sighed with my mood swing. I can't understand myself too.
"I don't know why I feel this way but it's kind of hurt knowing that he lied to me and ended up saw him with a woman. He told me he will be hanging with the guys and I don't understand why he needs to lie to me? And the stupid thing is why I need to be affected by him?" I was frustrated and mad at myself at the same time.
