Miguel POV

"Mom, she is not someone that I like. The next stage of the relationship definitely won't happen between us." I told her firmly through the phone.

She just won't stop bugging me after the date and the same goes for the girl. Both of them really know the way to annoy me. They won't give me time to rest my mind. It drained me and it just got worst with everything that happened between me and Caramel.

I agreed to fulfill her request. She started looking for a place to stay, and she will be moving out of my penthouse. It irritated me but I can't stop her. She won't even talk to me like before; she always put a distance between us. I couldn't reach her even though I still could meet her every day.

"You just met her once. You should give her a chance and try to know more about her. Things will work out if you really want it." She persuaded.

"That's the thing, I don't want it. Please, just forget about this. She is not someone that I want." I spat.

"It sounds like you have someone in your mind. Tell me, who is the girl? Is she someone from a well-known family? What is her family name? I can look into it and check her background." I shook my head, refused to let her know anything about her. She won't approve it as she wasn't someone from the well-known family that she demanded. It wasn't a problem for me; I don't care about that, as long as my mind had decided that she is the one.

"Not at the moment. I'm not into love and commitment at this moment. I got to go, mom. I have a meeting to attend." I refused to spit out the truth and immediately ended the call before her voice irritates me more. Cut the crap, I don't have time to entertain all the bullshit. The unclear mess in my head was enough for now.

I went to the bar alone tonight after work without asking anyone to join me. I wanted to clear my mind and thinking about a way to sort things out. For the past few days, I barely talk to her. Although she still prepared my food, she was not friendly like before. She really treated me as her boss, not more than that, not even a friend. It killed me silently inside.

"Hey, buddy. Why are you alone here without informing us? You should call us." Her image vanished from my mind when a familiar voice approached me. It was Manuel, Tristan and Carlos trailed him from behind.

I gazed to the back, checking if she is with them. I sighed when the disappointment hit me. Only three of them were there. They took the empty seat around me.

"What is happening? Spit it out." Carlos asked in a brotherly voice.

"Ah-ha, before you say it. Let me guess." Manuel said and acted as if he was in deep thought before he continues and said, "This is about Scarlet, right?"

I didn't nod nor shake my head, letting a heavy sigh out from my mouth. It was chaotic in my head and I'm not in the mood to say anything.

"I think I guess it right." He added.

"I noticed there is something wrong between both of you. What is the problem?" Tristan questioned with his concerned look.

I leaned towards the couch while they kept their gaze on me waiting for me to confront.

"Did Cassandra mention anything about this?" I turned my eyes to Carlos. Just in case, I could dig something from him.

"No, she didn't say anything, but she is with Scarlet tonight. They went to a restaurant near your place. I dropped her off before coming here. Why?"

"I don't know where to start and not even know how to start this.  Something is clearly wrong from the sudden changes in her attitude, but she refused to spill the beans. She keeps reminding me that we should keep our relationship strictly business, not even friends." I finally spoke out. All this while, I kept it inside me and it really messed with my days.
