Scarlet POV

Michael passed me a note when I reached the front counter. There aren't any customers at the café during that time.

"Scarlet, Miguel asked me to pass you this."

Not a single word from me as I stared at the paper in my hand for a while. I sighed before reading the content. What made me surprised was the initial on the notes; your guardian without wings. M.R.

It made me recalled the notes that I received a long time ago and rushed to take my purse as I remembered that I kept that notes in my purse. I rummaged through my bag till I found it and compared the notes with the ones that I just received earlier.

"It was him, your guardian without wings. M.R.? Miguel Rodriguez?"

I took out my phone from my pocket and searching for Miguel's name. I really want to talk to him but luck was not on my side, the line was connected to the voicemail.

"No, I'm so stupid." I scolded myself. I let the chance slip from my hand again. I should confess to him at the time he arrived here and not letting him leave without a proper goodbye once again. I remembered what he said earlier after the outburst. Airport!

"Hey, Michael, I need to settle some issues urgently. Can you help me to look after the café for a while? I promise I will be back as soon as possible." He peered at me with an understandable face.

"I know, it's about Miguel. Don't worry, Scarlet. I got your back." He patted my shoulder, reassuring me that I could rely on him.

"I appreciate it, thanks!" I grabbed my bag and stepped out of the café immediately. I hailed a cab and hopped in, informing the driver of the destination at the same time. I couldn't sit still and calm myself along the way to the airport.

After a while, the cab finally pulled off at the drop point at the airport. I rushed out of the cab and entered the departure hall. My eyes were busy scanning through the mammoth hall and looking at the information board with the details of the flight. I was searching for a flight to New York and noticed that there will be one flight that will fly in another hour.

I stood near the entrance at the immigration check with an accelerated heartbeat. There were so many 'what if' mingled in my head. I admitted I deeply regretted my stubbornness.

"Scarlet, what are you doing here?" I spun around immediately searching for the owner of the voice. He was standing there with luggage while his other hand was tugged into his pocket.

"Miguel," I screeched and ran to him, wrapping my arms on his waist with my face buried on his chest. I knew people were looking at us with so many kinds of looks but that was not my concern at the moment. I don't care if I will be in the headline the next day. What I care about is the person standing in front of me right now.

"What is this about?" He asked coldly, not returning my hug. It hurts but it was my own fault. I pulled off from him, awareness hit me and I don't have the courage to gape into his eyes.

"I'm sorry about earlier, about everything," I answered in a low tone.

"It doesn't matter anymore, Scarlet. I need to go; it's time for boarding." He was ready to walk away but this time I grabbed his wrist, forcing him to face me.

"No, Miguel, I don't want you to go," tears brimming in my eyes and I know it will spill anytime.

"I don't see any reason for me to stay."

"You said you will wait for me till I'm ready to talk and only two days you already give up?" I was terrified with the thought that he will ignore me after this.

"As I said, you don't give me any reason to stay." He was firm this time. No smile, smirk, chuckle, or laughter from him. The way he stared into my eyes was intense.

"I like you and I don't want you to go." I stared at him back hoping that he might trace sincerity in my statement.

"Not enough for me to stay, Scarlet." He turned around. It hurts to be treated like that. Without thinking much, I stopped in front of him and grabbed his face with my arms forcefully. I smooch his lips with a deep passionate kiss, proving to him how much I wanted him to stay.

"Is this enough for you to stay?" I confirmed more in a whisper tone with my hitched breath. I pulled away from him but our face remained in mere inches.

All the worries were swept away immediately when I noticed a smile tickled the corner of his mouth. "What is that mean?" I asked with furrowed brows.

"I didn't expect you to kiss me like that but it was nice. Can we try that again?" His smile grew wider, and he was obviously teasing me right now while I blushed till my face turned crimson red. I hide my face on his chest as I realized the eyes that kept staring at us.

"We could try that again if you're not leaving," I told him still buried my face on his chest. His vibrated chest due to his chuckle proves that he was enjoying the situation right now and it caused me to slap him lightly.

"Keep your words, Caramel. Let's go, finish what you started." His statement made my heart thumping widely.

"What are you going to do to me?" I pulled away and waiting for his answer. His next action shocked me; he lifted me up and threw me on his shoulder. I squealed as I didn't see that coming at all.

"Miguel put me down. People are looking at us." The cheers were all over the space. He impressed them with his brave action. Instead of putting me down, he let out laughter, feeling proud of what he had done.

"They already watched everything earlier and I don't think you really mind about that. You wouldn't kiss me if you care about that."

"So you're not leaving?" I saw him walking towards the exit door.

"Never planned for that. Stay still, Caramel, and congratulation in advance for the headline tomorrow."
