Chapter 34

A year had passed since the Battle of Crait. The war between the Resistance and the First Order raged on. But both sides knew that the war would be ending soon enough. Neither of them knew how it could, they just knew.

The reason why they knew was because Palpatine made a broadcast that was announced throughout the galaxy.

Confirming to everyone what Rey and Finn had found out before, Palpatine was alive. He was threatening the galaxy once more, wanting to control it himself. This angered the First Order, as they were the ones who wanted to control it. Kylo Ren was especially angry, as he was the Supreme Leader and he wanted to keep it that way. He didn't kill Snoke for nothing.

Kylo Ren knew that he would have to find a way to get to Exegol. He knew that the Resistance had a Wayfinder that was on Jakku, so he needed to get his own. He traveled to the planet, Mustafar, where Darth Vader had lived so long ago.

He fought off the Mustafarian warriors that were trying to keep him from getting the Wayfinder. He cut them down one by one, not letting them keep him from what he seeked. His troops were behind them, shooting down the warriors on sight. Kylo Ren slammed one warrior to the ground, stabbing him to death.

Kylo Ren stopped after a while, seeing that the warriors were all dead on the ground. He took deep breaths as he walked over to the tomb they were guarding. He pushed the lid off and reached inside, pulling out the Wayfinder. Now he had his way to reach Palpatine.

After a long travel, Kylo Ren finally reached Exegol. He landed in front of a Sith Temple, lightning flashing through the sky. Igniting his lightsaber, he walked inside the temple. He stepped onto a platform that lowered him down into the catacombs of the planet. There was nothing but darkness, the only light in the room coming from his crackling lightsaber.

"At last..." a cold, dark voice filled the empty room.

Kylo Ren, feeling uneasy, stepped off the platform. Lightning flashed as he walked through the room, trying to find him.

"Snoke has trained you well..." Palpatine said, Kylo Ren being able to tell that the Emperor had a smirk on his face.

"I killed Snoke," Kylo Ren countered. "I'll kill you."

Palpatine chuckled, remembering a similar conversation he had before. "My boy... I made Snoke," he said, making Kylo Ren freeze in his tracks. "I have been every voice..."

"You have ever heard...," Kylo Ren heard Snoke say.

"Inside your head..." Darth Vader then said.

Kylo Ren took a deep breath and continued forward. There he saw what looked to be a tank with wires attached to it. Mutilated copies of Snoke was inside, creeping the Supreme Leader out. He walked past it, focusing on his goal.

"The First Order was just the beginning," Palpatine continued. "Rey refused the offer that I give to you now. I will give you so much more."

"You'll die first," Kylo Ren replied.

"I have died before," Palpatine countered.

Kylo Ren knew that he was nearing the voice. He could feel the pure darkness getting closer with each step he took.

"The dark side of the force is a pathway to many abilities... some consider to be..." Palpatine said as lightning flashed, his face being revealed to Kylo Ren. "Unnatural."

Kylo Ren held up his lightsaber to his throat. Palpatine smirked, remembering that as the same reaction that Rey had. Only this time, the results of their conversation would be different. While Rey refused his offer, Kylo Ren would take it. He had foreseen it once he released his broadcast.
