The five of them climbed out of the case and apparated onto a roof. A loud roar was heard coming closer as screams erupted down below. Newt and Kai stand on the ledge to see an Obscurus go past the building.

"Is that it? That's the Obscurial thing?" Jacob asks as they all stare at it.

"That's more powerful than any Obscurial I've ever heard of." Newt says as they watch it destroy everything in its path. Newt turns to Kai, taking her hand.

"If I don't come back, look after my creatures. Everything that you need to know is in there." Newt says placing the case and a book in her hands.

"What?" Kai says barely registering what he's saying.

"They're not killing it." Newt says looking at the Obscurus and then back at Kai before apparating away.

"Newt!" Kai shouts but she's too late. She quickly turns around and hands the case and book to Queenie.

"You heard him. Look after them." Kai says. Tina quickly grabs the woman's arm, pulling at her.

"You can't. It's too dangerous." Tina says.

"I'm not leaving him. I won't do that to him again." Kai says as Tina refuses to let go of her. Kai looks to Queenie.

"If you can read my mind, you know what he is to me. I can't let him die. I won't let it happen." Kai says as Queenie somewhat smiles at her.

"Go get your man." Queenie says as Kai smiles. Tina let's go and Kai apparates after Newt.

Kai apparates on the ground as people run past her, screaming. She sees Newt watching the Obscurial as Mr Graves speaks to it. She notices the Obscurus getting more agitated by Mr Graves speaking and attacks him. Kai quickly apparates beside Newt and pushes him behind car.

"Kai! You shouldn't be here, it's too dangerous." Newt rambles as Kai grabs his face with her hands, shutting him up.

"Newton Artemis Fido Scamander every time you get into trouble, I will be there. Right by your side. Do you understand me?" Kai asks in a serious tone. Newt blushes as he nods.

"Newt! Kai!" Tina shouts from behind them. Kai let's go of Newt's face before turning to see Tina.

"It's the Second Salem boy. He's the Obscurial." Newt shouts over to Tina.

"But he's not a child." Tina says.

"His power must be so strong he's somehow managed to survive." Newt says peering over the car to see the Obscurus and Graves following it.

"Newt. Save him." Tina says before running after Graves.

"You ready?" Newt asks grabbing Kai's hand.

"Sure." Kai says nervously before they apparated after the Obscurus.

The two of them appear on a roof as the Obscurus starts getting closer to them. Newt stands in front of Kai as he raises his hand.

"Credence. Credence we can help-." Newt says before Kai apparates them both before the Obscurus kills them. They apparate from building to building, following the Obscurus as it destroys everything in its path.

They watch as Aurors attack the creature, enraging it even more. The Obscurus suddenly flies up and then dives down into the ground. Kai looks to Newt before grabbing his hand and apparating into the underground.

As they both slowly walked through the underground, they noticed the Obscurus attached to the walls causing Newt to hold onto Kai's hand tighter. They slowly stepped onto the tracks and stood behind a pillar.

"Credence. It is Credence, isn't it?" Newt asks calmly trying to help the boy.

"We're here to help you Credence. We won't hurt you, I promise." Kai speaks. Newt slowly walks out from behind the pillar as Kai watches.

"I've met someone just like you Credence. A girl. A young girl who'd been imprisoned. She had been locked away, and she'd been punished for her magic." Newt began as the Obscurus disappears and a boy appears, sitting against the wall. Newt crouches to the small height on the opposite side from Credence as the child looks between Newt and Kai.

"Credence. Can I come over to you?" Newt asks as the boy sits silently staring at them.

"You can trust him Credence." Kai says softly. Newt slowly stands up and begins to move closer to him before he is struck. Kai turns to see the attacker before being struck as well. Kai watches Newt roll on the floor and behind the pillar in front of her before striking the person who attacked them.

Kai steps out behind the pillar and strikes the person to see Graves. He dodges her attack and strikes back, causing her to fall to the ground, unable to get back up. She watches Newt protect Credence as Graves continues to strike at him. He catches Newt off guard and hits him, causing him to fall between the track. He continues to strike Newt over and over again as Kai watches.

Newt grunts in pain as Graves continuously strikes. It felt like he was being electrocuted over and over again, until suddenly he felt nothing. He slowly opened his eyes to see a fiery orange force around him as Graves stares past Newt. He turns to see Kai standing as she slowly opens her eyes revealing that they had changed to a firey orange.

Before Newt could even say anything, a dark shadow falls over the three of them. Credence was an Obscurus again and towered over Graves. Kai let the shield around Newt down as she falls weakly beside him.

"Credence." Graves begged as Credence towered over him. Suddenly Credence became more angry and began to attack. Graves apparated around the room as did Newt holding onto Kai. The Obscurus ripped through the roof and slammed back into the ground. Graves was on the back against the ground as Newt put himself in front of Graves and Kai.

"Credence no! Don't do this. Please." Tina begs as Credence seems to calm down.

"Keep talking Tina. He'll listen to you." Newt says holding Kai close to him. She could hear his heart beating rapidly as she slowly gained her strength back.

"I know what that woman did to you. I know that you've suffered. You need to stop this now. We'll protect you. Me, Newt and Kai. This man, he's using you." Tina speaks to the boy as Graves stands up.

"Don't listen to her Credence. I want you to be free." Graves says. Suddenly Aurors appear, pointing their wands at the Obscurus.

"Don't" Tina begs.

"Wands down. Anyone who harms him will answer to me." Graves threatens the Aurors surrounding them.

"Credence." Both Tina and Graves say trying to calm him down. Newt tightly holds Kai as he watches the Obscurus.

"Credence." Kai mutters causing him to calm down. Suddenly the Aurors attack Credence causing him to scream out in pain. The four of them fall to the ground as a small explosion pushes them back. They look up to no longer see the Obscurus or Credence.
