Beth's POV:
"Thanksgiving Break is coming up Dylan."
"Yeah, I know."
"Well you know I'm going home to see my mom and sister. What are you doing?"
"Coming with you of course." Dylan's response is added with a smirk.
"I was thinking you could go home to your family. They must miss you."
"Yeah.......I'm sure they do." He says uncertainly with a hint of sadness to it.
"Come on Dylan. Maybe it'll be good for you." I continue to persist.
"Alright, fine, I'll call them to see it's ok."
"Good!" I reply all excitedly.
...
Dylan's POV:
Riiiiinggg
"Mom.....It's me, Dylan."
...
Beth's POV:
"So? How did it go?"
"I'm going to celebrate Thanksgiving with my family."
I stand up from the couch and walk over to give him a hug. However, he drops to his knee before I can.
"What are you doing Dylan?"
"Beth.... I love you."
"I love you too Dylan."
"I've been with you for awhile now. And I've known you for even longer."
I think I know where this is going but I can't bring myself to think that way. I don't want to be disappointed.
"Even when I was with Kailynn, I knew there was something special about you, something that made me want to know you. After Kailynn and I broke up, that's when I knew I had to get to know you. And it just started from there and kept growing."
He takes a pause, including a breathe.
"What I'm trying to say, Beth, is that we've had our awkward moments, our ups and downs. But despite all that, through all that, I couldn't imagine anyone else I'd rather go through it with."
He pulls a tiny box out of his pocket and holds in up.
"Beth? Will you marry me and continue this journey with me?"
He opens up the box and it's a beautiful halo diamond ring.
"Yes Dylan. I will marry you."
He stands up, places the ring on my finger, and we embrace each other in a hug. Then, of course, a kiss.
