Chapter 14

Days fly like a bird after I was titled the goddess Daughter. I was served, delicious meals and most of all the annoyance of the Crown Prince Cairu visiting my chamber in secrecy.
Every night he visited in such a way coming inside my room through the open window, or perhaps sneek into my room through curtains. Sometimes he give me the most adorn flower of Egypt that is grown in the royal pond the boy lotus, it was a hassle not from receiving his gift but from having so much attention to the woman inside the palace.

I sigh as I lay my face to the bed. The soft and welcoming embrace of the bed was the only thing I was after. Thanks to be in titled as the goddess Daughter I wasn't having a common name and my real name Peony ist doing the trick, I have to own an Egyptian name but since I'm not yet entitled yet I'm just the goddess Daughter protect by baster and favored grandchild of mother Isis. And also I was always with my teacher Bastet learning the Egyptian society and the god of knowledge teaching me what I have to know. Sometimes I cant believe it that my mother is really a goddess in this ancient civilization. Who is my mother really.
I remember I was with her but seeing all this is making me think twice.

" Goddess, the Goddess Bastet is visiting you." I wave my hand to the young servant and complain under my breath. " it is a fine evening dont you think so, Peony."

I nod to her with tiredness written in my eyes. I mean who wouldnt, your learning a lot than a normal school and cram school combine.

" I think it is." She crossed her arms to me and her cat lined eyes squint to me. " peony." She said as if a warning.

"Aunt Bastet,  can't I already retire for a day?" I sigh  like a lazy person Iam. And her serene face turn fierce. " are we a joke to you?" She raised her arc brow, " what will the people of Egypt will think about the goddess who is one of the patrons in the largest cities. " she continued.

I felt bad for what I said, perhaps being a goddess is not an easy job after all. I escape my harsh reality and now was presented with new reality I should just accept it since there is no third chance only this miracle that happen to me give me such freedom, but not too free.

"I apologize." I lower my head as I feel bad on what I said, I acted ungrateful after I escaped the claws of death.

Bastet sigh and shook her head she then closer herself to me and raised my head by my chin with my fixed eyes towards her beautiful cat like eyes she smiled to me with such sweetnes. " I know it is hard but not too long you shall be rewarded. I'll give you a time off and let you explore the city of Egypt by yourself; after tell me what have you seen, observed and learn."

My eyes beam with light of hope along with the excitement beating inside me. Imagine I could go everywhere I want and be back without a hassle. I do not yet explore the city of upper Egypt and most of all Thebes, I heard it is a bustling market and full of activity.

" Yes! I will." I pull Bastet and give her a big embrace the goddess that I thought for the first time is warm and sweet was actually just like a cat, she has inside sound and with a hot body, she is so soft too like the fur of a cat.

" I bid you good night Peony." She left after that big embrace I give her. I was so happy that I have to get to the city.
My eyes landed on the sky outside my window and noticed it is all pretty late, Cairu should be coming inside now.

I look around and to the corners of possible ways that he may enter, not like I'm expecting or something but more of I'am keeping a watch since I wanted to retire to the bed now.

"Cairu?" I whisper a Little low then again until I call for like seem out of 3 minutes. The big room that I stayed was only me and my servant outside the door since I don't allow them enter whenever I'm asleep, but the annoying crown princes was no where to be found.

I shrugged my shoulder. Maybe he is caught up of a duty.

I was secretly allowed to go outside only the phraoh know and Bastet while the rest was uninformed. I was also showed by Aunt secret way to the outside of the palace which I took that route to sneek out.
I was wearing a robe that almost cover my face and also cover the other parts of my body, since I'm wearing a normal outfit that shows a high quality dress with skin that is showing I covered it with the robe.

"I'm finally out. " my lower lips tremble as I witness the history that I read back in the future, the giant pillar, statue that is towering to the sky, beautiful tan skin and black hair, the monuments that are displayed in the future that looks run down was infront of my eyes well and working. I couldn't believe what I'm seeing, the history books that give Egyptian stories about the palace and the way of living does not compare to this at all.

I started to walk and passed some aristocrats and high power people getting wasted and talking to the other side and happy children playing along as they braide their hair.

I'm in the upper Egypt city which means I still have to travel to Thebes to see more, Aunt Bastet told me that it would take me at least 3 hours from here to there but I will not encounter any dessert field only some houses and people.

I exhale the excitement and breath all out as I took another step to make my Joubert and my dreams, I felt like I'm like a free bird for the first time flying out from its cage.

With me was a purse full of gold coins a money from Egypt which I can use us my expenses through my trip, back in the future I'm really good at dealing and money saving so I don't have this problem. I'll be back in the palace after two days, in this two whole days I will be in a freedom and tell Bastet what I have all learn, discover, and observed.
