Downfall

Chapter 11: Paintball

The next day at breakfast, we were all having a great time, and then dad's phone rang and we all stopped and waited for the answer we were waiting for....

"Mia, would you like to live with us?" Dad asked her.

"Yes!" She squealed.

"For how long?" Hunter asked.

"For as long as we want to." Dad replied.

"So, would you consider adopting her?" I pinched dad's cheeks.

"It's a process, but yeah, we will." Mom chimed in. "How can you just abandon her. She's just so adorable."

We looked at Mia who was enjoying her waffles while humming. She truly is adorable. Whoever abandon her, deserves hell.

Saturday arrived and Daniela called, to inform me that we are going to play paintball. Grayson, Lori will be joining us. I got ready and met them there.

"Alright, I'm about to kick some major ass." Daniela told us.

"In your dreams, babe." Lori told her.

"Please, I'm going to beat all of you." Grayson added.

"I would like to see you try. You'll be begging me to spare your life." I smirked.

He walked to where I was and said, "We'll see about that." We were just inches apart from our faces touching.

We pulled away and went to put our equipment.

"Man, the sexual tension is there with those two." Lori commented.

"Oh yeah, I have a feeling, it wont be long for those two to finally kiss and bang." Daniela added. Lori chuckled.

After 10 minutes, we all met outside. We got in positions and started to shoot.

"Your asses are mine." I smirked. I shot like 5 people. "So easy. Now, you two." I looked at Dani and Lori.

"Her ass is mine." Lori said while pointing at Dani. "I love you baby." And she shot her. We laughed.

I saw someone pointing at me, and I got down. Dani, Lori got shot again. Grayson got down too. We went separate ways to find cover before they shot us. Instead of watching surroundings, I let my guard down.

"Son of a bitch, that hurts." I laid on the ground.

"Such a drama queen." Grayson smirked.

"Asshole, you freaking shot me." I sighed. He chuckled. Since he was distracted, I grabbed the gun and shot him.

"Fuck!" He fell on top of me. He looked down at me and my heart started to race really fast. "Shooting really close, hurts more than from afar."

"I know, that's why I did it." I poked his dimples. He shook his head.

"You're something else." He got up and helped me. "We look like a bag of skittles."

I laughed at that. "Yep, good luck us getting rid of this paint."

After our crazy time here, we all said bye and went our separate ways.

I arrived home and Mia looked at me like I had two heads. She started to laugh.

"I know, I'm a colorful mess." I grinned at her.

"Yes." She giggled.

"You look like a bag of skittles." Mom said. Dad laughed and so did Mia.

"You three are too much. Later people." I waved them goodbye and went to take a shower.

That moment with Grayson made me feel butterflies and all I wanted to do was to kiss those plump lips. Why do I have to like someone who clearly doesn't like me that way.

After my shower, I got changed and then went to lay down on the bed. There was a knock on the door. I told them to come inside.

"Hey mom."

"Just checking on you. How's it going?" She asked while sitting next to me.

I chuckled. "Mom, I know you're here to talk about, Nikki."

"You caught me, I want to make sure things are good and that no matter what, you two wont lose each other."

"We wont, whether she returns my feelings or not, we'll remain friends. I just don't want to be in the, what could've or the what if." I answered truthfully.

"That's good to hear. Dinner will be ready in 10." She gave me a kiss on my forehead and then left.

After our big finale, I'll tell Nikki how I feel about her. I'm hoping she returns the feelings. But if not, then I won't be living in the what if. That's the worst thing that could happen to anyone. Knowing you could've changed it but decided to not give it a try.
