Chapter 25: Jealousy Is Bad For the Soul

Grayson wasn't ready to hear about his biological one's, story. He stayed away from whatever his name is. I supported Grayson's decision. It's just a part of his life that's a very delicate subject. Grayson didn't have classes today, so I went alone.

"Wait up!"

I turned around and.. "Grayson?"

"No, I'm Mason. Grayson's twin." He said as he extended his arm.

"I'm, Nikki. His girlfriend." We shook hands.

"So, after classes, do you want to grab something at the bakery nearby. I think it's called, Dani's treats."

"Sure."

Classes were over and we went to Dani's bakery. She hugged me and I did too and then I told her who Mason was. She was in shock too.

Mason was a nice and funny person. The things that differences him physically from Grayson is, a little mole that's on his cheek and a few freckles.

"You're a delight to talk to." He told me. "I like you."

I was gonna say something, until I saw him checking out a guy from my class.

"Hot damn." He bit his bottom lip.

"Excuse me?" The guy asked Mason.

"I think you're extremely hot." He smirked.

"Is that so?" He smirked back.

They exchanged numbers and then once he had his order, he left.

"Okay then, saves me the whole, I'm taken speech." I said as Mason laughed.

"I asked you out so you could help me. And also cause you're awesome." He gave me a cheeky smile.

I shook my head as I chuckled.

"Grayson is, a hard nut to crack. You have to give him space. When he's ready, he will find you and talk. For now, just let him be." I told him.

"Fine, I'm just excited. My adoptive parents were amazing, but I felt like a part of me was missing. And one day I came across his picture and I just knew, I had to meet him." He said as he look away.

Ahh, okay. Grayson got it all wrong. But still, that's not my place to tell, these two clearly need to talk, but I'm not going to push Grayson. He will when he's ready. I wanted to ask what happened to his parents, since he said 'were'. But he was already in a somber mood, so I didn't.

After a few hours of talking, we exchanged numbers and went our separate ways. When I arrived at the apartment, Grayson was on the couch and shot me a death glare.

"Okay, who peed in you cheerios?" I asked as I sat down.

"You, I was going to buy your favorite cake and cookies, and I spotted you with him." He said with so much anger.

"Grayson, is not like that."

"It's exactly like that. I can't see you right now, I'm staying at friend's apartment." With that said, he left.

Tears fell down my cheeks. I do the right thing and it bites me in the ass. He didn't even let me explain the whole thing. Ugh. Screw you, Grayson.

I walked to Dani's house. I decided to crash here. I was so angry at Nikki.

"Okay, why are you here and what has gotten into you?" Lori asked me.

"Nikki happened and Whatever his name is." I rolled my eyes.

"Well, not everything is as it seems. Did you even let Nikki explain the situation?" Dani asked me.

"Anger took over and I left before she could." I replied.

"Nikki didn't do anything wrong. She's allowed to have guy friends. You can't keep letting your jealousy screw things. Cause they have." Dani answered before drinking her coffee.

"Nikki isn't the type of girl to cheat. She is the type, that gives chances to people. She listens to their stories and from there she decides whether they're worth it or not. You should know this by now." Lori reminded me.

"I know, it's just the thought of her with someone kills me, and not just anyone, but a guy that looks like me." I huffed.

"Twin." Lori and Dani said in unison.

"I screw up, didn't I?" I sighed.

"Yes, so go talk to her. But wait till tomorrow. Give her space and tomorrow when you both have cool down, clear things." Dani suggested.

I know I screwed up, but Nikki is my everything, I don't want to lose her. Especially not to him. If I see him again, I'll kick his ass. He's not about to get in the middle.

The next day, I went to the apartment. I didn't see her, there was a note on the counter. She said she was coming back tomorrow. I tried calling her and nothing. I sent her text and she left me on seen. I screwed up big time.
