Chapter 14: Baby Project

Ahh babies, aren't they the cutest. Well, not if they are a freaking assignment and are half our grade. Who the hell leaves dolls as an assignment?

"I want Graybear, to be the daddy of my baby doll." Mara said while batting her eyelashes at Grayson.

The teacher ignore her and paired everyone and that left Grayson and myself as partners.

"Grayson is mine!" She screamed and then stormed off the classroom.

"Didn't think a loser like you, would have crazy girls." Brad mentioned. "Then again, you do hang out with that trash girl." He pointed at me.

Grayson's hands formed a fist. Not everyone has seen Grayson angry and when I say angry, I mean furious. I didn't want for Grayson to fight. It could get him in trouble and Brad is not worth it.

"Pay no attention to him." I grabbed his hands. He seemed to ease up and relaxed.

"I'll soon, erase that stupid smile on your face." Grayson told him.

"Oh yeah, what are you gonna do?" Brad was provoking Grayson and it was working.

Grayson started to get up to hauled at him but I dragged him back and made him face me. "Gray, focus on me, don't attack this asshole. He is not worth it."

People take advantage of Grayson, why? Because he is a very patient man and doesn't resort to violence unless it's necessary. When we were 10, a kid kept bugging him, and no matter how many times Gray told him to stay away, he didn't listen. Grayson ended up hitting him hard and blood came out of the kid's nose. Grayson has a temper.

After classes were over, we went to my house with the new addition for two weeks. No one was at home. I put the doll on the coffee table as we sat on the couch.

"I was so close to beating him today. I can't wait to bring that asshole down." He huffed.

"Trust me, I want that too, but he isn't worth you getting suspended." I grabbed his hands.

He got closer to where I was and grabbed my face. "You calmed me, thanks for today."

"You're welcome." My breathing became heavy.

We stared at each other's eyes and like magnets, we leaned in and kissed. My insides just exploded. His lips felt so amazing against mine. He slipped his tongue and played with mine. This kiss was amazing. Our hands tangled in our hairs as we kept devouring our lips. He placed me on his lap never breaking the kiss.

We heard footsteps and pulled away. Our parents were there.

"Ha, pay up suckers!" Jojo yelled as the others groaned.

"Well, took them too long." Dad rolled his eyes.

"It was a matter of time. They were just in denial." Mom added.

"Still, pay up suckers." Jared chimed in.

Mom and dad handed them the money. We rolled our eyes. They seriously made a bet about us.

"I can't believe you four." I shook my head as I got off Grayson's lap.

"These are our parents we're talking about." Grayson reminded me.

"Whats with the doll?" Mom asked us.

We told her about it and they chuckled. They're lucky they didn't get stuck with this assignment.

Grayson ended up staying at my house because the doll kept crying. I wasn't going to be awake alone. Team work. The doll finally shut up at 11 pm. I was with Grayson on the bed.

"Now that we finally have peace and quiet." He pulled me to him and placed a soft kiss on my lips.

"I can get used to you kissing me." I smiled against his lips. "Will you tell me why you pushed me in the mud when we were 5?"

"Well, a kid kept looking at you and I didn't like it one bit, so I decided to throw you in the mud." He gave me a cheeky smile.

"Well, that little stunt earned you a bath in the mud and me hating you." I chuckled.

"Its a good thing we like each other now." He kissed the tip of my nose.

"That we do." I caressed his cheek. "Since we are admitting stuff, I got jealous when I saw you kissing, Mara."

"Should've known." He chuckled, "the only girl I'm interested, is you. It's been that way since my dog made me fall on top of you that day."

I laughed. "Guess he shipped us."

"I was going to wait after the big finale, but today I couldn't resist anymore. I needed to feel your lips. Have you in my embrace." He rested his forehead on mine.

"Same, I kept having butterflies and blushed when you were close to me. But since you kept saying I was your special friend, figure I was stuck in the friend-zone."

"You are, you're a special friend, one that I like so much." He pecked my lips.

"Aww." I squished his cheeks.

Just as we were about to kiss, a bloody sound echoed through the walls.

"I'll kill the teacher who left us this project." I huffed as he laughed.

He grabbed the doll and rocked her. Wasn't working. Then he started to sing and it worked.

"Finally." I sighed.

He placed the doll on the couch and plopped on the bed. As son as his head touched the pillow, he was out. I was already in dreamland.

The doll cried again and wouldn't shut up.

The next day I woke up and did my daily routine. Grayson was still sleeping. There was a knock on the door and I opened it.

"Nana, Nika." I hugged her.

"My Nikki." She hugged me back. "Care to explain the doll on the closet?"

I told her about the project and she laughed.

"I had a project like that too, We got A+." Grandpa, Derek added.

"I missed you." I hugged him.

"Me too, little one." He hugged me back. "I see you two finally confess your feelings." He pointed at Grayson.

"Yeah, he's a great guy." I smiled.

"No sex." Nana added. "Enjoy your teenage years and don't get pregnant fast."

"Trust me, I wont. This project makes me realize, I'm so not ready for babies." I said as they chuckled.

They heard giggles and that was it for them, they made a run to meet Mia. I laughed.

"Five more minutes." Grayson mumbled in his sleep.

A sweet guy that talks in his sleep and lightly snores. Got the whole package. It's surreal that we kissed, but feels so right.
