Chapter 45 - Somethings Gotta Give

*Anna's Pov*

When I woke up, Fronz wasn't asleep next to me.

Kind of weird.

I got up, and walked downstairs.

Chris was sitting on the couch crying, and Fronz was sitting with him, talking to him.

I walked over and give him a big hug.

"What's wrong hun?" I asked, sitting on the other side of him.

"It's Alex.. Oh my god, I can't believe what happened.." He cried.

"Shh, shh.. Calm down..
What happened." I asked, hugging him.

"I woke up really early, at like 4 a few days ago.. and I looked around the room because Alex was nowhere to be found. I screamed and called and ambulance when I found her.. Alex collapsed in the hallway. She was unconscious and barely breathing. I tried to save her, but let the paramedics take over when they got there in a matter of minutes."
He sobbed.

"Is she dead.." I gasped.

"No no, they say there is no food in her system, there hasn't been. All her vitals like blood pressure and even her heart beat are really low, and slow. Basically her body is shutting down.." He cried.

"I need to go see her.." I said, tearing up.

"She has a strict no visitors rule with the hospital. Since she's pretty much in a coma, they need a few days to stabilize her and make sure she's going to make it.. They gave her multiple iv's to get nutrients into her, but she might not make it.." He cried.

I started to cry to, the thought of losing my best friend is unreal.

"Anna.. Why didn't she tell me.." I had, wiping his face.

"Tell you what.." I frowned.

"That she had or has an eating disorder.." He said, looking down.

"Chris, I don't know if she knew how to tell you.. It's always been her secret. Only I knew about it back in high school.." I frowned.

"I just wish I knew before so I could have kept her safe." Chris sighed.

After we calmed down, I made us both someone green tea, with peach flavoring.
We both enjoyed tea, and it helps to calm people down.

I spent the whole day with Chris.

Fronz went out and did some errands for me and shopping.

Chris and I, on the other hand just watched movies most of the day.

"Hey look the pizza is finally here!" He said, getting up.

"That'll be $20" the pizza guy said.

Chris handed him a 20 dollar bill, took the pizza & closed the door.

After we ate Chris got a call from the hospital.

I heard him answer, and I saw him cover his mouth. A few tears streamed down his face.

"Yes."

"No I didn't know.."

"Will she make it?"

"Okay...."

Was all that I heard him say.

I stood up and wrapped my arms around him.

He cried softly on my shoulder while I rubbed circles into his back.

"She might not make it Anna.." He cried, getting worked up.

When fronz got home a few minutes later, he found both of us crying.

"What's wrong guys.. Is she okay?" He asked, curiously.

"No.." I said, trying to contain myself.

He dropped a bunch of groceries on the table and hugged me.

"Anna.. Chris.. I'm so sorry.." Fronz said, with sadness plaguing his tone.

"There's nothing you can do, so don't be sorry." Chris said coldly.

"Chris do you want to stay here with us? I don't want you to be alone.." He said.

Chris didn't answer, he just walked upstairs and went into my room. I heard him slam the door, and flop down on my bed.

"What was that all about..?" Fronz asked.

"I don't even know. We where watching movies all day and he was fine.. The hospital called and said Alex was in bad condition.. And he snapped." I said, pausing.

"I'm just as upset as him, honestly we're talking about my BEST friend here." I cried.

"Yeah, but Chris hasn't had a girlfriend in awhile. He really cares for Alex." Fronz said.

"I know.. I just wish there was a way I could help him feel better or something.." I said, sitting down.

My two best friends are hurting..

And there's nothing I can do..
