Chapter Three

Whilst Kodaviah was making his way over to aisle 35 where the Ferrero Rochers hopefully were...

Brandy and her seven year old cousin Shanae in the meantime were doing some shopping for Christmas. Christmas was approximately a month away from now, but that didn't necessarily mean that they had to leave everything to the last minute.

Brandy wasn't that type of girl, at all.

Shanae had braids, with white beads and she was really endearing. She was wearing a puffy pink dress with black tights along with matching shoes.

They had been shopping for a pretty long time now, so she was getting tired. They had a shopping list and everything.

But half of the things weren't even for them. They had volunteered to go to a food bank to give foods for Christmas.

Brandy did, anyway. She was a very selfless person. Shanae inevitably didn't really understand how food banks had worked yet.

"Brandy?" Shanae had called her name, standing right behind the trolley with pleading eyes as Brandy had shopped for things.

"Yes?" She trailed off.

"How many things left on the list?"

"Just two, baby," she had replied, looking for chocolate Christmas coins and then getting the Ferrero Rochers. "After this, we can buy whatever the heck you want!"

Shanae had cheered at that, although their happiness didn't last very long because there was Kodaviah.

Before he had come though, Shanae wanted to know why she was giving to a food bank in the first place. To be fair, Brandy didn't really explain anything.

She was too busy shopping, that was why.

"Well; because not all families have food, Shanae. Which isn't good at all, most especially during this time of year and-"

She was interrupted by an infuriated Kodaviah.

He had seen her take the Ferrero Rochers.. or more specifically, the last Ferrero Rochers in the entire store.

And he wasn't very happy about that.

He did not spend almost an hour in the queue to go to Savvy and Swiftly for nothing.

Truth be told, Kodaviah and Brandy had both gone to the same university- Cambridge... but they didn't actually know each other as Brandy was in second year (she was turning 20 in March) and Kodaviah was in first instead.

"Hey! Gimme those Ferrero Rochers if you know what's best for you."

Brandy was talking to Shanae about the importance of food banks, most especially during Christmas, but she couldn't anymore, now that Kodaviah was there.

"Excuse me?"

Kodaviah rolled his eyes.

Before coming up really close to Brandy once and for all.

"Look, ma'am, I did not spend almost an entire hour in some stupid queue for nothin'. My parents need these chocolates, they'll be ticked off at me if I don't get them."

It probably wouldn't have taken Kodaviah that long to wait in the queue if he hadn't caused any commotion earlier.

But the queue was still almost an hour long either way, so therefore it didn't really make much of a difference to the ending results.
