There she was.
All Esther Marie had to do was to talk to Brandy, and explain why her as well as Vishavané couldn't have come with her to the hospital today.
She was talking to Kodaviah about something right now, unlocking the door to enter her room. She didn't really notice Esther Marie standing there, as she was hiding behind a wall.
Esther Marie wasn't normally this afraid of Brandy because they had always talked to each other very easily... plus they had never really fought with each other either.
Just talk to her, sis.
What's the worst thing that can happen?
I know that she's extremely mad at you right now, but she can't physically harm you or kill you, right?
Exactly! So what's the sitch?
Sighing, Esther Marie had then gotten out of her hiding place, saying Brandy's name as she was about to enter the room.
"Brandy?"
Brandy and Kodaviah were talking about this show that they had really liked... aka Money Heist, with Brandy staring lividly at Esther Marie when she had heard her name.
Kodaviah had stared at her too although he didn't say anything.
"What the hell do you want?!"
"I can explain."
"There's nothing for you to explain, Esther Marie! You and Vishavané were supposed to come to the hospital with me like you had both promised me but neither of you could even do that! How the heck am I supposed to trust my best friends when they can't even be there for me when I need them the most?!"
Esther Marie was about to say something although she had stifled it when Brandy had said that she didn't want to hear it.
She had still said something regardless of what Brandy had said though.
"Kodaviah's not even allowed in here though, boys aren't allowed in here."
"I don't care, Kodaviah's a much better friend than you and Vishavané will ever be!"
She had then stormed into her room, not even looking at Esther Marie once. Kodaviah had looked at Esther Marie cluelessly, then he looked away instantly.
Or more specifically, when he had realised that he was making eye contact with her.
Esther Marie had sighed.
She actually had a good reason as to why they didn't go... Vishavané was really struggling with something and she needed Esther Marie's help in it as well.
They would have told Brandy about all of this, albeit they didn't because they were worried that she would have taken everything the wrong way.
Either way, Brandy was now in her room, with Esther Marie going back to hers to find out that Vishavané wasn't even there anymore.
She had gone to the shops although she had left a note behind, so that Esther Marie wouldn't have wondered where she was.
Went shopping!
Will be back shortly! -VishavanéIn the meantime, both Kodaviah and Brandy were in Brandy's room together, and it had looked like this in general:
But the M sign was replaced with a B, for Brandy's name.
Brandy was sitting on her bed, with Kodaviah in the meantime just watching her, not actually saying anything to her yet.
"You okay?"
Brandy didn't even say anything, she had just started ranting to him about them, Kodaviah joining her on the bench eventually.
I just don't get who they think they are. How can you promise something and then break the promise later!
"Brandy..."
It just doesn't make any sense at all! And they're supposed to be my best friends as well. Clearly not because of what they did.
"Brandy..."
Clearly not if they can't even stick to one promise!
"Brandy!"
"What?"
Kodaviah had sighed.
It was strange that he was younger than Brandy yet despite this, he had given a lot more better advice than her, but desperate times had called for desperate measures, he had guessed.
"Look, I know none of this really concerns me and all but... " he sighed. "Do you even know why Esther Marie and Vishavané ditched you instead of going to the hospital with you?"
Come to think of it, no she didn't.
But where the heck was Kodaviah going with all of this exactly?
Brandy couldn't really tell.
"What's your point?"
He rolled his eyes at her before saying anything else.
"What I'm trying to say is... you should probably try to see things from their perspective. Maybe, and no offence, maybe they had to attend to something that was a lot more important than your mother and brother only having twenty seven days or less left to live."
What was more important than something like that though?
Although the kid had a point. If the roles were reversed and Esther Marie and/or Vishavané were annoyed at Brandy over something...
She'd want them to hear their perspective too.
"What could possibly be more important than my mother and brother not having that much time left to live?"
Twenty seven days was a long time though, was it not?
OK, so it was less than a month- although it was more than three weeks.
Almost four even.
"I don't know what could possibly be more important than that, if you want the truth but you should still try and listen to them regardless. That's what I'd want to do, and I'm pretty sure you'd want the same thing for yourself as well."
She did.
Kodaviah had also mentioned that whenever he was mad at someone for whatever reason, he would have tried to see things from their perspective.
To consider whether they were worth him still being mad at or not.
Brandy had agreed to him, however at the same time she truly wondered what he was going to do as she was going to try and reconcile with her friends instead.
He was extremely hungry apparently, so he was therefore going to make something in their kitchen. He had oftentimes cooked in his free time.
Mainly because his parents had forced him to do so but then he wanted to do so at the same time.
Brandy had listened to him, then they had departed their separate ways once and for all, after hugging each other anyway.
