Chapter Five

"How the heck would you feel if that was you?" Grandma Tiffany wouldn't have stopped going on and on about this whole situation. "If you had something first and someone one fought you for it?"

Kodaviah wanted to roll his eyes at her, but he didn't.

He had just pretty much stared at her instead.

He was allowed back into the shop now, along with Brandy as well as her little cousin Shanae, however if any of them had misbehaved one more time?

Then they would have gone straight to jail.

And Ezekiel the security guard had meant it.

They were supposed to go to jail now, realistically speaking. But they didn't.

The police had to attend to a murder, which was way more important than two immature teenagers arguing over chocolates at Savvy and Swiftly.

So Ezekiel said screw it, and let Kodaviah off the hook after he had indirectly begged him to stay at the store.

"It won't happen again, I'm sorry."

"Do you know why Brandy and Shanae wanted those Ferrero Rochers in the first place?"

Because they were nice and almost everybody had liked them?

Which was true.

Although apparently, they were taking everything in which they had bought today to a food bank, to give to less fortunate people.

People without food for Christmas, even before and after that too.

Kodaviah didn't realise this, as Brandy didn't say anything about a food bank when they had been fighting each other over the chocolates earlier.

He felt awful.

She should have said something.

How the hell was Kodaviah supposed to know all of that?

"Food bank or not, her and Shanae saw it first, whether you liked it or not. Should I tell your parents you were misbehaving at Savvy and Swiftly?"

They had probably already knew that though to be honest, although Kodaviah had shaken his head vigorously regardless.

He now had two Ferrero Rochers instead of just one.

He was going to give Brandy and Shanae one of them, as he had still needed one to give to his parents, even though he didn't deserve it.

It was just a downright shame that all of the queues at Savvy and Swiftly were long, even self service too.

Despite this though, self service was shorter than all of the queues, and it had gone down quickly too, so therefore Kodaviah had gone in there.

He had kept his shades on as he didn't want anyone to notice him as the 19 year old kid that had pushed in the line earlier.

And the same 19 year old kid who had fought an older 20 year old kid over some stupid yet crazily expensive chocolates.

Plus, Brandy and Shanae were in the self service queue, and Kodaviah wanted to make it up to them before it was too late.

So when it was his turn to use the cash machine, he had used it, and thank God that Brandy and Shanae had a lot to sort out.
