It had been a particularly bad week for Atsumu. His brother had just got out of the hospital, which should be a good thing. It wasn’t. Osamu constantly complained about how sucky it was, and that he needed to get back to work. Don’t get me wrong, Atsumu loved his twin, but he really needed to learn to shut the fuck up sometimes.

While caring for his brother, practice had gotten more tiring and hard, as the season was about to start up again and they had a practice match against a low-level team. Atsumu was still recovering from Itazai, his brother’s incident, and now he was focusing all his time into volleyball and making sure Osamu was taking care of himself, completely forgetting about his own health.

When brought up by his boyfriend, the blonde simply waved it off, which resulted in a fight breaking out between them. Overall, the week had been shit and all Atsumu wanted to do was cry himself to sleep. Osamu was picked up by Suna earlier that day, so Atsumu could drink without worrying about his brother or the consequences of his action until the next morning.

Going on a drive, Atsumu found himself getting lost in thought. The tranquil night calmed his racing mind slightly, but scars don't fade so easily. Stopping at a corner store to get alcohol, Atsumu debated if he should call Osamu or not. Deciding against it, Atsumu paid and left.

Reaching home, his phone was silent as Atsumu stared at the blank walls. His heart was in pain, no one was there to help, and his thoughts were getting worse each passing minute. Sometimes, when things were really bad, Atsumu wondered what it would be like to be a star. Aimlessly lighting up the dark night sky until their time was up and they died.

It was almost midnight when the pro volleyball player started drinking. Atsumu wished he didn't have to go through this alone, but he had already burdened everyone enough. Atsumu had given up on love, but tried to believe in it again when his long time crush confessed.

Drinking away his problems, Atsumu sobbed and wailed into the quiet of his apartment, tired of all the negative thoughts. The whiskey was taking over, numbing all his senses. As his body slowly gave in from the amount of whiskey he drank, the hurt male stumbled over to his bed, intoxicated.

Falling asleep almost immediately, Atsumu wondered if everything would be different in another life. He would be happy. There would be no rumors, no kidnapping, no pain. His broken heart and mind couldn’t take much more pain. All the blonde wished was for someone to save him before he saw black and promptly slept off his problems.
