"You look cute."
"Ew stop being nice to me."
The two sisters looked at each other and laughed. Kata snuggled herself into her elder's side.
"Ugh, now you're the one being nice!" Lana laughed, pushing her sister away playfully. Soon the two girls turned back to the mirror connected to Lana's dresser.
The sisters had just gotten back from the mall with their dad as a reward for their first day of school, and they were ecstatic about what they got. Lana gently fingered her new nose ring and her two plum-purple cartilage piercings as Kata played with a strand of her newly bold teal-dyed hair.
"I feel like me," Kata finally said. Lana looked at her sister thoughtfully.
"You look like you," Lana paused, grinning. "I was serious before you know, you look really amazing." Kata gazed up at her sister and embraced her. After letting go of her, Kata looked at Lana's reflection in the mirror. She cocked her head and threw open the door to Lana's large walk-in closet.
"Hey get out of there!" Kata rolled her eyes.
"You have a date with Mark tonight right?" Mark was Lana's boyfriend and also pretty much the best person on the planet. He was nerdy yet still somehow cool and Kata absolutely loved him. Lana came into the closet shushing her sister.
"Are you trying to get the monster to hear you?" she asked pointedly, eyes alert. Kata turned to look at her sister with a glare on her face.
"Ok first off don't call her a monster." Lana returned the glare of her sister and Kata smiled. "That's an insult to monsters everywhere." Lana laughed long and hard. "Second, she's already going to murder us once she sees what Dad let us do, what's the harm in adding a secret boyfriend to the mix?" Lana opened her mouth to say something but Kata cut her off. "Plus she's not going to be home until late tonight she's meeting one of her friends. I would never say something like that without thinking first." Lana smiled gratefully.
"Thanks, sis." Kata nudged her sister kindly and she two shared a moment.
"Ok now shoo!" Kata finally said. "Let me work my magic!"
"Let you work your magic? Kata you hate fashion," Lana argued, but left Kata and walked back into her bedroom as she was doing so. Kata began thumbing through various shirts and jackets.
"Fashion is fine," Kata said nonchalantly. "I just don't like the monster's fashion which is why I refuse to go shopping with y'all." Kata took two shirts off the rack and held them up to compare, deciding on one after a moment and putting the other one back. "Besides," she continued, coming out of the closet. "I have good fashion sense." Lana looked at her doubtfully.
"Your fashion sense is literally just plain jeans and nerdy t-shirts." Kata looked down at the Fall Out Boy shirt she was wearing that she had probably gotten from the men's section. She looked back up at Lana. "Okay fine nerdy and band t-shirts." Kata shrugged and threw the shirt she had been holding at Lana.
"Your point?" Now it was Lana's turn to shrug. "Also you absolutely love my nerdy shirts because they are hilarious." Kata retorted.
"I really want to argue with you but I can't."
"Exactly." Kata turned on her heel and went back to search through the closet. "Are y'all gonna be outside or inside?" Kata called over her shoulder.
"Outdoors," Lana replied. Kata looked through rows of pants, skirts, and shorts. God Lana had a lot of clothes.
"Scrap the shirt!" Kata called. A moment later she was hit in the head with the fabric. She huffed and hung it back up. Kata finally settled on an outfit and brought it out to her sister demanding her to put it on.
