"Oh my god, that is so disgusting." Jisung scowled the moment your hunched form slid through the break room doors, cradling his cup of coffee close to his chest like it was going to help him somehow.

"Shut the fuck up." You growled in response, shoving past him to sit down at the table in the middle of the room, ignoring the squelch in your pants when you sat down. The only other people in the room were having a conversation in the corner by the coffee machine. Their attention was caught the second you entered the room, and without hesitation they scuttled out of there. You weren't the friendliest of faces around.

"What is that?" Jisung said, his face still scrunched up as he hesitantly walked a few steps closer. You glared at him from where you sat and he stopped moving.

"Nobody told me that gnomes squirt disgusting slime as a defence mechanism." You lifted a hand, white slime webbing between your fingers when you stretched them out. You held back a gag and tried to shake off any excess slime.

"First, ew," Jisung said, his lips in shaky line like he too was trying to hold down his lunch. "Second, why the hell were you fighting a gnome?" He managed to build up the courage to slide into the seat opposite you, though he still kept as much distance as he could.

"Job from Mammon," you murmured angrily, "Apparently the little gnome shit was running 'round the villages in Hell eating people's kids." Jisung choked on his coffee.

"Oh," he said plainly. "Still working diligently then?" He asked and your mouth unconsciously curved into a frown. You did still work for Mammon, much to your dismay. It wasn't like you had any other choice, your contract was made under strict rules, clearly stating that you would take over Tanner's job until Mammon could find a replacement. You weren't stupid though, you knew Mammon was not looking for a replacement and was going to keep you around for as long as he could.

In an act of self-defence you had killed one of Mammon's devilish sons, and while you'd managed to escape with your life, you had lost just about everything else. Your lost your high status job in the Jurisdictive Quarters, you lost any ounce of tolerance your parents might have had for you, and you lost any respect from the people of both Quarters. Most importantly, you lost the best thing that had happened in your life. Sat there and watched him walk away from you as he went back to the place he belonged.

Now you had nothing but a shitty job working for people you hated. On the positive side, you had been spending much more of your time moping around the Criminal Justice Quarters, consequently spending more and more time with Jisung, the one person around here who's company you actually enjoyed.

"How long are you going to keep working for him?" Jisung asked cautiously. If there was anyone that knew how much you hated your job, it was Jisung. You didn't actually work in the same department as him, but you spent countless hours either in his office or in the break room just bitching about Paimon and Mammon and the ridiculous things they made you do. After Chan left you found that you didn't actually like being on your own as much as you thought you did. Hanging out with Jisung wasn't nearly the same as hanging out with Chan, but at least you were distracted from how much you hated everything when you were with him.

You rolled your eyes at his question. "What are you talking about Jisung? I can't just stop working for him. He could kill me if I did, and I'm not protected by my parents anymore. It's not an ideal job but I suppose it's better than dying." You shrugged, though lately you were really debating that.

"You don't know that he's going to kill you, he'd be pissed, sure, but there's no way he would actually kill you," Jisung argued.

"I don't know about that. I did kill his son." You shook your head, staring out of the only window in the room. You could see the dark sky, and stretches of the dark purple ground, spots of civilisation popping up every now and again. "I don't think I should test him either way. Anyway, I don't really feel like talking about work right now." You huffed and Jisung got the message.
