Chapter 14: The Invitation

"So I see kayo na ng anak ko." seryosong tanong ni Dad.

Dad. Ive never seen him that serious.

"Yes Sir, and I promise that I will take care of her and treat her like a princess."

"Awwww thats so sweet." Bati ni Mom.

"Ehem!" Biglang singit ni Taylor.

Tumingin si James sakaniya at tumango.

"Tito, Tita, Im inviting you po to my 22nd birthday celebration together with your lovely daughter  at Grand Palace Hotel."

"Really? OMG I HAVE TO PREPARE!" Sabi ni Mom.

James chuckled. 22nd Birthday na niya,

"When is that James?"

"3 days from now Tito."

3 DAYS FROM NOW???! Wala pa akong gift para sakaniya!! >

"Uhmmm Dad, labas muna kami ni James okay lang?"

"Sure anak. Mag-ingat kayo."

Naglalakad kami sa park nearby.

"Birthday mo na pala hindi mo manlang sinabi saakin."

He laughed.

"Wala pa akong napreprepare na gift para sayo."

"I dont need any gifts princess, the greatest gift that I could receive is you attending my birthday celebration."

"James you know thats not enough,"

"You are more than enough."

Ay. :") HIHI Sige :') Siniko ko siya.

"Aside from me, what else do you want?"

He stopped walking. Napatigil rin ako.

"Marry me Princess."

I started to laugh.

"Hahaha you know James minsan yung mga timing ng joke mo ndi maganda."

Tiningnan ko siya. Nakatingin lang siya saakin. His eyes were set on mine.

"Wait you mean you're serious??"

He's still staring at me.

"James, its only been 2 days since naging tayo. Weve barely known each other."

He smiled.

"Youre right, you barely know me. Sino ba namang matinong tao ang gustong magpakasal sa isang stranger?"

"James naman, you know that's not what I mean."

He just smiled at me. I see sadness in his eyes.

"Come on Princess, lets take you home."

I know he's trying to let go of the topic. Suddenly I felt guilty.

"James?"

"Yes Princess?"

"Im sorry."

"Dont be. Its alright. I mean everything's fine. Im okay, you dont have to say that youre sorry. Its my fault naman for -----"

I kissed his lips to stop him from speaking.

"Para kang babae, ang daldal mo."

I smiled at him. He smiled back. But this time his smile feels much lighter.

"Its not that I dont want to marry you. But I want to take things slow Knight. Of course I'll marry you, but not at this moment."

He smiled.

"I love you Princess,"

"I love you too Knight."

And we kissed under the moonlight.

*James's POV*

She wants to take things slow.

But how long can I wait?

How long can fate hold on?

I love her, and I want to make her mine forever.

Before its too late.

*KRRRIIIING*

"You disappointed me James."

That voice. It kept me frozen from where Im standing.

"Who is she James?"

I opened my mouth, but no words came out.

"Break up with her."

Finally I had the guts to answer.

"NO."

I heard him sigh on the other line.

"I thought we've talked about this James. Break up with her or else,"

"Or else what??"

"Or else I'll do it myself. Im giving you time until your birthday. Dont fail me once again."

And the call was out.
