Raven sat on the sofa sipping on her cup of tea while Drew lit the fireplace to get the chill off of her. She knew Drake would be having a conniption fit if he knew where she was, but seeing Drew was a spontaneous decision, one that would most likely land her in trouble, but she was going to cross that bridge when she got to it. Never in a million years did she think she would be having tea without wanting to throw the cup at his head. As she sat, she looked around the living room that was scarce of furniture. From what she could see, nothing much had changed. The solid hardwood floors still had that same shine to them. She smiled looking down at the latte colored shag throw rug she brought to provide warmth when they would cuddle up by the fire in the cold months.
After finally getting the fire going, Drew joined Raven on the sofa sitting a little too close for her comfort. Raven casually scooted away turning her body to face him. "I see you still haven't finished decorating the place." She said as she let her eyes appraise the room once more.
"Well between practice and games I don't have the time to feng shui the place, beside if memory serves me correctly, that was your job and you abandoned it." Drew replied keeping his gaze fixed on her.
"Well at least you have a couch now; we don't have to sit on the floor anymore." Raven's thoughts drifted back to the old days of when he first brought her to this house that they were supposed to live in as husband and wife.
"Yeah, but we had some good times on that floor," said Drew causing her to blush. He couldn't believe it. After so many unfulfilled nights where he could only dream about her, she was finally right in front of him. Raven, his Raven. It had been almost two years since they've been apart, but he'd noticed subtle changes in her. For one, she had gained a few extra pounds, nothing extreme but enough for him to notice. His eyes went over her jeans that fit her like a second skin, to the oversized sweater that hung off of her right shoulder. "So I was right when I said that was a yes." He spoke while trying to keep himself from reaching out and touching her exposed flesh.
"No, I said I would think about and I did just that." Raven corrected the self assured man.
Drew chuckled shaking his head. "Lies, you knew right then and there that you would be seeing me. Nobody knows you like I do so you don't have to lie to me, and you can stop lying to yourself while you're at it."
When he reached out to brush her hair off of her shoulder, she shifted to dodge his touch. "Look, I came here so we could talk. I read your letters and I feel like there are quite a few things that went unsaid between us."
Slowly nodding his head in agreement, he stretched his arm across the back of the sofa. "So you did get my letters," he stated rather than asking.
"Yes, and no... let's just say they got lost in the mail," was her vague response gauging his reaction from the corner of her eye.
"You mean your mom didn't give them to you." Drew stated knowingly. "Why am I not surprised, she never did like me." A sarcastic chuckle left his lips. He leaned forward, resting his hands on his knees, this entire time he was thinking that Raven was just ignoring him.
The fact that he was putting everything off on her mother didn't sit well with her. Raven's eyes narrowed down on Drew locking him in an intense glare. "I may not agree with my mom's methods, but don't get it twisted she had her reasons. After you got drafted you became a controlling asshole, and not to mention you cheated on me with my roommate."
"That was an accident." He defended in haste.
Raven huffed under her breath letting out a slight giggle. She was very unimpressed by his lame excuse. "An accident huh? So how did this "accident" occur, did she slip and fall on your penis?"
