After spending a long yet glorious month in New York, Raven was now home in Los Angeles. During her time back east she managed to get a lot accomplished. Gabriel was now officially managing the studio which made her feel so relieved knowing that it was in capable hands. The only problem was, breaking the news to Tiana. She didn't take it too well and the two of them got into a little argument over the phone. Getting things back in line at the dance studio wasn't the only thing on Raven's agenda while in New York. She was pulling any strings possible in order to book the Plaza for their wedding venue. Since they had chosen a peak season to get married, it was quite difficult to find an opening for August. At first sight it looked like everything was booked causing Raven to have a meltdown. Ever since she was a little girl she wanted to get married at the Plaza hotel, but she wasn't trying to push the wedding back a whole year in order to make that possible. After the wedding consultant gave it another look, it was as if the heavens opened up and freed a Saturday in August.
Raven wasted no time laying down the deposit for it. It was official; she and Drake were getting married Saturday, August 17th.Now back in LA, Raven had the house all to herself while Drake finished out the last stops of his tour. The wedding was occupying most of her time which was a good thing. It kept her from missing him too much. The kitchen had been turned into her own little work area and she had enlisted Alex and Danielle to help her get through some planning.
"So tell me again why you can't just hire a wedding planner?" Danielle asked while helping Raven with the seating arrangements.
"I told you, I want to have the full experience, headaches and all. Now focus on the chart, because you have too many people sitting at table three." Raven clapped her hands together in a chop-chop fashion.
Danielle dropped her hands from the chart, placing them on her hips. "You better not start that Bridezilla crap, I am a trained dancer, not a wedding planner." She spoke with a point of her finger while rolling her neck.
Raven laughed, but she really did appreciate all of Danielle's help. She was fresh off of a year long tour, and instead of relaxing at home, she was helping Raven plan her wedding. "Aw Danny, you know I love you to pieces, and I really appreciate everything you're doing." Raven wrapped her arm around her friend's shoulder, giving her a playful smooch on the cheek. "Now get back to work!"
Cutting her eyes at Raven, she laughed as she got back to the seating chart. "So where's Tiana, and why is she not here suffering through your dictatorship with me?" Danielle asked with her eyes still focused on the task at hand.
That was a good question. She was planning what was going to be one of the most important days of her life, and her best friend was nowhere to be found. "Tiana and I have been in a weird place ever since I demoted her and gave her position to Gabriel. I didn't want to do it, but she really left me no choice." Raven said with a shrug of the shoulders as if it didn't bother her, but in truth it really did. "She said she would fly into LA next week, but you never know with her these days."
A scoff omitted from Danielle's lips, almost sounding like a laugh. "That's code word for some man has her head in the clouds. That girl will never learn, I'm gonna tell her about herself when I see her." She shook her head uttering some words in Spanish.
"It's not like that," Raven replied. "Chubbs is cool, and I really do hope it works out for them, but you and I both know how she dives into these relationships heart first forgetting about everything around her." She explained, and Danielle nodded her head in agreement. The doorbell rang and Raven set the name cards down to answer it. "Hang on, I'll be right back." she rushed over to the door knowing it was Alex since the security had already let him through the front gate.
As soon as the door was opened, Alex came parading in carrying a FedEx box with bags around his wrist. "I have arrived with lunch and I picked up the fabric samples!" He said as he waltz past her.
