" Something that changed their lives forever"

Sophie POV

As I reached Havenfield, I walked into the building with Keefe.

When I stepped into Havenfield, I found my parents in the living room.

" Well, looks like I won't kill you today," Grady said, trying to sound angry but he could not fool me.

" Mr and Mrs Ruwen," Keefe greeted my parents as he bowed.

You see... my parents were the King and Queen of my side. So... making me the princess. However, I don't really dress like one. I never wore those fancy dresses or jewellery I got. I also didn't wear very heavy makeup. The whole kingdom is puzzled and they judged me. Not because I am not wearing like a princess or that I put them at shame. But it was because I was the moonlark. They all hated the moonlark. So to stop bullying, the Queen and King decided to  homeschool me.

" Your Majesties, dinner is served," a servant said.

" Thank you, Nick," Grady thanked as he motioned us to the dining room.

I walked into the dining room. Above the long table, there was a chandelier. On the right side of the room, there were a few lengthy mirrors. On the left side, there was a picture of me and my parents. We took our seats. Grady seating at the front of the table. Edaline and I taking both of his sides. Keefe took his seat right next to me.

The servants brought in the food. After eating the main dish, the servants brought in custard bursts.

" Sophie, your favourite," Edaline said as she handed me five custard bursts.

I thanked Edaline before I started eating.

When we were finished, Grady spoke as soon as the servants went out of the room with the dishes.

" Sophie, we have something that we want to tell you..."

Fitz POV

       " Greetings, Dad," I greeted.

Alden looked up from his book and saw me. He smiled as he greeted me back.

" Dinner is in your room. We finished before you came back," Alden said before he began to read again.

I sighed as I went to my bedroom. Just like my father said, there was a tray of food, containing all three courses, on my table.

As I finished my dinner, I called for a servant to take it back to the chef.

Yes, I am a prince. Royalty. Just like, Sophie. I knew that when she told me her name. I never questioned it though. I was part of the royal and legendary Vackers. My ancestors used to rule both sides until the Council said that we needed to divde the lands. The Vackers chose this one. So I think there was actually an election of who would take care of the other side. Apparently, news spread fast. Even onto the other side, surprisingly. It was said that the Ruwens took the duty as the royals. So when Sophie said 'Ruwen', I knew she was the princess that everyone on my side rumoured about.

You see, the Ruwens used to have another princess, Jolie. But she was killed when the Neverseen striked the land.

So, now when the King and Queen die. Sophie would ascend the throne. It's not like I was keen or anything. I wasn't even bothered by it.

" Fitz?" I heard my mother, Della.

The door opened and I did not only see my mother but also the rest of my family, except Alvar, of course, as he was part of the Neverseen.

" Son, we know that you would ascend the throne soon. And because of the fact that you need a bride. We have a solution..."

Author's Note: Hmmm... I expected this to turn out longer. Well, is the cliffhanger killing you? I suppose so. I feel like I am being very mean now. Anyways, I will see you in my next update! Take care and stay safe! ;)
