"Patton that was..." Janus could still feel his heart pounding, as if it wanted to climb out and confess the effects Patton held over it.
"Sorry... I shouldn't do that... what was i thinking? this is how i mess things up..."
"No Patton! I- I want you to do it again... always be bold... It felt so.."
"Right" they say together, a mutual feeling shared.
Patton's lips were soft and gentle and Janus wanted to explore them. To feel them against his own and hold him close once again.
Patton felt somewhat guilty. After everything he confessed for Logan, after everything he had just told Janus, why was this happening? Were his feelings less valid because of how everywhere they are?
He looks down at his hands, why is nothing straight forward? He didn't know what to do. Starting to feel his emotions bubble up.
"Not now..." He muttered, balling his fists which were taking on a green shine.
"Patton, are you okay?" Janus asks tenderly, making Patton feel so much worse. He doesn't deserve love. Not from Janus. Not for him.
"Yes. I think it's best you leave." He says, trying not to let his voice crack with his need to cry.
"Patton..?"
"Please... It's happening and I can't--I won't let you or anyone see me like this... not again..."
Janus places a gentle hand on Patton's turned shoulder, "It's okay Patton... Its better if you just let it go. I promise."
Patton didn't want to. He hated this part of him. The part that hurt Thomas, his friends. What sort of monster does that?
Patton could feel his whole body start to ache, everything was overwhelming, but there was comfort. Janus was holding Patton," Patton, I promise, it's better to let is out now instead of bottling it up. Why do you think I look the way I do?"
Patton stopped, Janus looked different before?
He relaxes, breathing steady as his body would allow. When he turned to Janus, a blush cascade across his face.
"What is it?"
"You look... Cute-er, somehow..." Janus admits.
Patton frowns, looking over to the mirror standing in the corner of his room.
He touched his cheeks, now green, his eyes frog like.
"I look... Weird..."
Janus takes one of Patton's hands, "Weird is good" he smiles.
"I can see really well too" he says, even in the dark room, he saw gold flecks in Janus's right eye.
"Yeah, frogs have amazing vision in the dark."
"Your eyes... They're very beautiful"
Janus smiles, "So are yours"
Patton smiles, he relaxes and slowly, the green fades from his cheeks until he was back to his familiar state."That... wasn't so bad..." Patton admitted.
"Yeah, not so bad when you're actually in control."
Patton smiles at Janus, he wraps his arms around him, hugging Janus close.
Janus looks down at him, unsure of why this was happening but not apposed to the affection, holding Patton back. "You okay?" he asks worried at the suddenness.
Patton nods, face still buried in Janus's shirt. All he wanted was to stay like this, just for a little while. Let the rest of the mindscape melt away like sugar between fingers. Let this be the only thing to matter; to Patton it was. Janus was.
His embrace. His kindness. His willingness to stick by Patton even when all he was doing was complaining about not having Logan... Made worse by the fact the entire time Janus liked him and didn't even mention it once just to be there for him...
Patton sighs, pulling away slightly, looking up at Janus.
"Janus?"
"um?"
Patton hesitates, second guessing himself, "Wanna watch a film and cuddle?"
Janus just nods, smiling at Patton, "Anything you want"
Logan leans back in his chair, looking towards his bedroom door. Something wasn't right. Remus had left over an hour ago to get "Something super cool and important" from his own room and hadn't returned causing Logan to be more worried then usual.
Remus had a habit of getting distracted by one thing or another, taking longer then anticipated to complete an action or simply forget what needed to be done in the first place, but Logan usual heard from him in some form by now.
Picking up his phone, Logan checks for missed texts. Nothing.
A quick trip to Remus's room to check on him and back to work. That's all. Logan didn't want to stifle Remus, he understood space was important; on the other hand, he was already missing Remus. Not that'd he'd admit that to himself, let alone Remus.
"Hello Remus, it's me, Logan. I noticed you've been absent for a while and it lead me to be concerned. Are you okay? Do you require assistance?"
Shuffling noises grew closer to the door and then it opened- then closed- quicker then Logan could process.
"You work too much, you know lo" Remus's voice sleepily complains.
No light in the room was turned on, Logan could hardly see, reaching out his hand for the voice he'd just heard; hoping to find some guidance and come to a conclusion to what had happened to his boyfriend for the last hour. Or a light switch. Either-or really.
Remus takes Logan's hands in his, gently kissing one. "Sorry i made you worry, I fell asleep. Didn't get much sleep last night." Remus winked, even knowing Logan was practically as visually capable as Toph in here.
"Don't apologise, I wouldn't of woken you if I knew you were sleeping. Although, you're not getting enough sleep because you stay up until sunrise watching the Ted Bundy confession tapes."
Remus sighs, gently leading Logan to his bed, watching the cluttered floor to make sure he doesn't trip, "It's just more interesting. Plus, I get to watch you sleep, and that is the best thing I could wish to do with my time"
Logan grimaces, "Simultaneously cringy and creepy,Remus. Your love knows no bounds. " Logan sits on the bed next to Remus, just about being able to see Remus while being very close, which he didn't mind.
"No, it doesn't" Remus grins, removing the glasses from Logan's face, rendering him blind once more and earning him a whine of protest.
"Remus, please..."
"Ooo, I like it when you beg" Remus teases, setting the glasses down on the bedside table away from Logan's reach. He starts to pull Logan's tie loose, throwing to one side and lifting Logan's shirt.
"Remus, what are you doing..?" Logan asks, not amused but not fighting it either.
"You woke the duke, you must let the duke cuddle you for the remainder of the nap, and you can't sleep in these clothes, you'll be uncomfortable." Remus finishes undressing Logan, tossing his jeans with the rest of the clothes, leaving his boyfriend in only his boxers. Remus admires him for a moment before pulling off his own shirt and helping Logan put it on- not that Logan needed help, but Remus preferred it.
Despite them being roughly the same height, Remus being slightly shorter, Logan was built like a match stick, so the shirt was quite sufficient as nightwear.
Logan rather happily lays down with Remus, holding Remus's arms around his own waist.
"You focus on working too much. You need to relaxed time to time too you know?" Remus whispers, rubbing soothing circles with his thumb.
"This isn't about me waking you up, is it?" Logan asks, admittedly already growing sleepy.
"Not in the slightest but you're stubborn"
"sorry."
"Don't be, it's hot- the rest of the time." Remus grins.
Logan rolls his eyes but with a smile on his face, slowly drifting to sleep.
